Both lovely, but I have a particular weakness for the the 8119. There is just something about these Seikos, I'm still searching for the perfect 6105...
I managed to buy two new additions to my vintage Seiko Diver collection.
The first is a really nice 7548-7000 from December 1981.
A few quick photo's:
The second purchase was a 6105-8119 from September 1976 with original dial, hands and insert plus a triplock crown conversion.
Not bad for a 33 year old.
Lets just say that I am ever so slightly happy!

Look like a nice pair - I'm not a big fan of the arrow hands on the 7548 but love the ones on the 6105 (& the whole package) - Health to wear ... Paul
Congratulations Dave, they're both really nice though I prefer the 6105 8)
:)

Congrats on yet another beautifull pair Dave :) .
And with great pics to highlight them.
Cheers,
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Corkers they are Dave :D
Really nice... have to say, I'm getting a hankering for a vintage Seiko. Do you mind me asking what kind of price these go for?
They certainly are Andy. You read my mind. I must be getting a little too predictable.Originally Posted by andy armitage
Thanks for the comments so far guys.
Hi david
The bezel insert on the SQ is unreal, its untouched.
The 6105 must be a Randall special if its got the triple lock, nice score.
Talk soon

The triplock was done by Jack Alexyon at IWW. Jack still advertises this service on his site but he no longer fits the triplock due to it being "too labour intensive".
Both fantastic Dave.Good catches!!
I am a huge fan of Seiko Divers, recently bought a 6309 and thought my fix was hit but know i keep getting draawn to the 6105!
Dave, fantastic pair, muchos jealous
Cheers

Loverly.....can't beat the 70's!
Oohh! I like the domed sapphire on the 7548, beautiful condition that one. And the 6105 is stunning Dave. Enjoy wearing those. Even more impatient for my 7548 to arrive now. :)

Nice and very nice :D :D these things are not something I would want to own, I prefer newer divers.
Lovely vintage divers! for me I really like the 6105 as I prefer the square hour markers, very nice example you have there!
Can someone explain to me what a triplock crown conversion is?
The Triplock crown system is used by Rolex. This is a near identical system designed for Seiko Diver's, especially the 6105 model. Basically, it is a triple gasket crown system.Originally Posted by ozdave
The only possible weakness of the 6105 is it's locking crown system as it does not inspire confidence when actually diving. The original locking crown system is a push in, turn and lock mechanism (where the crown's outer surface comes into contact with a pin attached to the case, locking the crown in to position, making it water resistant. This upgraded system improves the pressure testing of a 6105 from 150m (when new or if fully renovated) to 200m and possibly more (if all new Seiko seals are fitted).
There is lots of information here:
