Awwwww Dave that is just superb as usual, nice one 8) 8) 8)
Now updated.
I was online this morning and came across this 6105 via the archives of a well known Seiko restorer. The transformation is stunning as you can see via the photo's.
The watch was 100% original in its well worn and rather tired state. The watch was then fully serviced and had a full case refinish to standard specification. A new domed sapphire with internal A/R coating was fitted along with new seals (excluding the crown). The second hand was retained and the red dot was touched up. Both the hour and minute hands were replaced with some used hands off another 6105, keeping the hands to original specification. The complete bezel appears to be a NOS replacement. The hands and bezel dot were then relumed in white luminova that glows green.
I had another good look at this particular 6105 as the case number looked familiar. I then realised that I have this actual watch in my small Seiko collection!
It is always great to know the history and specification of how a watch you own was renovated via the actual person that did all the work.

My post is now updated with the info you need.
So let me see if I understand this right. You owned this watch previously, sold it to someone, then found it at this Seiko restorers site, bought it and only then realised it was the same watch you had once owned before?!Originally Posted by j111dja
Thats incredible!
That is a cracking job, amazing what can be done

Sorry. I put in the past tense as far as ownership is concerned. Now amended in the original post.
I have this actual watch in my small Seiko collection. I had never owned it previously though.
I am guessing I am the third owner since the work was completed over a year ago.
Ok gotcha. thanks for clearing it up :)Originally Posted by j111dja
The watch looks great. I am totally amazed at the transformation.
I know you may not want to give out details and I understand that you did not have it done but is such a transformation expensive?
There are several guys out there who can do this type of work and prices are on their web sites. (I can PM the details to you on request). Their prices can be expensive but the work is always to a very high standard, and their excellent reputations are based on this work.Originally Posted by Soft Top
