This is the 2nd time I have been reduced to inarticulate envy in a very short space of time. First Eddie with that El Supremo and now this. Congratulations that is just 'derful.
May I unclench my teeth and punch the screen now! Pleeeease?
After many years patiently waiting, I've finally managed to secure my all-time Grail...
The photo's really don't do it justice...
But I've tried my best...
I think the bracelet is exquisite and you really have to see it in the flesh to appreciate the different facets and finishes...
This will be my Grail in the truest sense of the word - the result of a very long search, involving having to let a few very nice watches go, and something that is so special that I'll treasure it for a very long time...

That is indeed a great find and something truely special 8)
Please flip it my way if you have a change of heart :)
Very, very nice. Hah, "nice" is an understatement. The bracelet is lovely and is reminiscent of the shapes around the bezel.
Great finish and design from the detailing on the face and shape of the bezel, to the bracelet links and clasp.
A very attractive piece of engineering.
Congratulations :)
That's a real stunner, worth a hunt!

Congrats ! Awesome watch !!
Agreed, that is a seriously nice piece of kit :)
Congrats! That's a real stunner
Truely a very beautiful watch..looking awesome
Very,very nice indeed....congratulations!
I love the bracelet
That is one of my favourite chronos as well, infact i love it even more since they updated it with a new bracelet and the larger size, they don't come up often though and it's depressing that you can look in the US and find 10 of these going for great prices, yet in Europe they're hard to get and in the UK near impossible!
That truly is something else... very beautiful watch, you sir are very lucky.
Knocks the spots off a Daytona IMO.
Very nice watch 8)
Wow, serious bit of steel! Congrats 8)

GOT...TO...KILL...CAPTAIN STUPID!
Thanks for all the great comments guys. I still can hardly believe it myself - especially as I know how little (comparitively) that I paid for it. It also came from an AD and is less than 18 months old. I was only phoning/emailing round the dealers to see if I could get an automatic version (non chrono) as I never thought that I'd be able to afford a chrono just yet, but they shifted a lot on the price of this because I said I'd definitely have it if they'd accept my offer!
Just goes to show that bargains are still there to be had if you're cheeky enough to ask!
Stunning! Congratulations.
Nice. So if that's your grail, is it the end of the madness for you?
HOw are things up there in heaven by the way?? :D just kidding , many congrats it's a truly magnificent watch.

It would be nice to think so, but I think there will be another itch needing scratching soon! :shock:Originally Posted by hogthrob

I've no doubt that the madness will continue in some lesser form but, as far as chrono's go, I can't see me changing this one. Besides which, it will take a long time before the grin wears off my face!! :DOriginally Posted by hogthrob
Pretty much depleted the watch fund now, so I'll probably start off low again and work my way up to a favourite pilots watch or Diver - but I've no idea which ones they will be at the moment. It may take me a bit longer this time anyway, as I've got nothing left to sell now! ....but it was worth it.. :D
Do you mean Southport??? :) If you mean the other one, I've not got there yet - just managed to make it to cloud 9 on saturday when I collected the Vacheron!! I've just had an awful thought though...there will be no need to be able to tell the time in Heaven, so what will we all do to pass the time?? I can feel a crisis of faith coming on..... :shock:Originally Posted by azmoghal
Congratulations on a truly magnificent piece, and however it came about I think you made the best choice, IMHO the chronograph is a far sweeter dial than the auto, I just can't like the auto's dial layout, as if I had the choice. Should say thanks as well, as your post made me realise what a great piece I have, even though mine is the older chronometer automatic the quality and attention to detail of VC is still so apparent.
Enjoy.
Beautiful watch- I absolutely love that dial. Congratulations!
Love the iron cross at the bracelet.
Congratulations - what a beauty!!!!
