I've decided that I have too many watches: I'm in so much debt that I have 7' tall bald men angrily beating on my front door day and night.

GLWS - Good Luck With Sale, bu99er I was going to put mine up for sale but for more money and you have undercut me.

Mine Says Hi! - I know you have yours up for sale but if I put a picture of mine up on the thread I hope that a prospective buyer contacts me rather than you as it will save me the bother of writing an advert.

"I'll definitely take it" Not necessarily to be relied on, so don't put the watch on hold unless

    1) The interested member is known & trusted by you
    2) You received some money, even if it's just a (meaningful) deposit

    Great shop.

    Remember it well.

“Redux” - I don’t know what redux means, nor how to use a dictionary. The first four letters are common to “reduction”, so I’m sure it’s fine.

F2F preferred - you won't catch me with an 'item not received' scam

Check my feedback on Heroes and Villains - I have multiple sock puppet accounts

Last chance before putting on Ebay - there must be some mug punters there!

    “Up for grabs”

Validates the price I’m asking and makes people think that I’m doing them a favour - even listing it.

Lovely piece, GLWTS! - FFS, he's still trying to shift that PoS I offloaded.

Testing the water - ludicrously overpriced

Selling to fund incoming grail - I'm underwater on Bitcoin

To be fair - a lot are transacted in service area coffee shops for purely logistical reasons

  27. #77
"Patina" = looks older than it is

"Batman" / "Pepsi" / "Hulk" = it's objectively wildly overpriced but we give it a cute name despite it costing more than your first flat or a very good car

"Pushers operate smoothly" = they work

"Bezel has positive click" = it's stiff

"Lume still glows / has some life left in it" = if it's tritium it doesn't; if it's radium you might want to pick a hospice now

"Rare transitional model" = makes no difference and is no interest to anyone *or* neither one thing nor the other, made during a change in the shift at the factory

"Omega NATO strap" = Ł100 for a strip of nylon made in China for pennies

Forum price is Łxxxx, these go for up to Łyyyy elsewhere = I have scoured the internet and found one, massively optimistic, massively over-market, example that has been lingering on Ebay for two years at Łyyyy.

Or on Chrono24 (“Chronic 2.4 times the price you’d pay elsewhere”)

Can’t see a mark on it - I’m myopic and also squinting by candlelight.

The opportunity to buy - I bought it pissed so someone please take it and put me out of my misery.

What it owes me - I don’t understand that most thing’s probably reduce in price a bit as they are worn / passed from owner to owner.

    Catch and Release:

I`ve taken a watch in trade against something I struggled to sell, I`m not taking responsibility for its condition but I`d now like someone else to buy it.

YOU bought it, YOU own it, YOU are wholly responsible for the condition of the watch and cannot blame the previous owner if there are problems when you sell it on. We're not playing pass the parcel!

"Here we have" - I think I am Fiona Bruce
"Let's say ŁXX" - I know its true worth but think you are a mug
"Just want back what it owes me" - What I (over)paid plus 20%
"...Rolex..." - Sh*t I need out of this fast, the sky is falling and I used it as collateral against my Tesla, also now falling in value like a stone.

  36. #86

    Not bonding - buyer's remorse
One in one out - buyer's remorse
New incoming forces sale - double buyer's remorse
Worn once - I have a hangover and buyer's remorse

    This. This. This.

No pics = no interest from me.

Also tend to think - the forum is plastered with how-tos, there's loads of options, all simple - so if someone's too lazy to sort that out, what else are they holding back on...? Servicing? Completeness? Mishaps? Origin? Always nagging doubts... Just no.

I’m always waiting for someone to get caught out by putting up two watches claiming once A is sold B will be withdrawn to put fear of loss on both posts and then end up selling both.

"More details on website" - I'm too lazy/thick to include a link.
"See here for more info" - Because I'm too lazy to cut-and-paste the relevant bit.

They know how to do it. They avoid doing so because the thing they’re selling has visible problems and they’re hoping to find one gullible buyer without the hive mind pointing out the problem.

This could be a thread on its own. I’m sure we have had a Gatling gun and a Time Machine and no end of items that only the tz membership could possess.
