    Vulcain Nautique Skindiver

A nice looking skin diver coming soon from Vulcain according to their Instagram.

The specs look good: 38.3mm diameter, 44.5mm lug to lug, 200m WR, ETA2824, ceramic bezel insert. I did see the thickness on a reel - can't remember the exact figure but it was decent including a highly domed crystal.

1490 CHF so not too bad. No release date as yet.

Yes, it's a nice looking thing and Vulcain is a venerable brand, but there are literally dozens of micro-brands offering the same thing, same quality, same look for a third of the price.

I'm sorry but that design and movement have nothing to do with Vulcain's heritage.

Now this is a far more interesting watch:

It's a re-edition of a 1960s Vulcain model of the same name. I agree though - I much prefer the Cricket models in general.

Looks so much like an SAAA Lemania 5100, or the other way around :)

    Which is nice.

    What does?
    The watch in the OP?
Not seeing it other than it’s got a bezel and black dial
Lack of chronograph is a bit of a give away?

Very nice looking IMO, though it would be good to see another angle. While there are no shortage of microbrand divers, in this case some genuine heritage, an ETA and the size set it apart. It’s rare for reissues not to grow to unwearably large sizes. Even faux aged lume doesn’t feel out of place, perhaps because the photo makes it look genuinely vintage.

Yes - Just meant the black with a thin black bezel and the same lume and general style.
    They look similar to me.

I am sorry. Fail to see the similarity.

Looks like another generic black dial diver to me. Much prefer their more interesting offerings.

To my surprise it is actually significantly larger than the original, which was just 35mm, amazingly small for a watch with a diving bezel. You'd need good eyesight underwater. You can see a few for sale online, eg here and here for £500-600.

Good though that they've kept it to a modern midsize of 38.3mm to retain some of the character while making it a bit more plausible for modern times, the usual tendency would be to overshoot.

A ringer for a Bathyscaphe or vice versa.
