Thread: Does DPD offer a 'cash on collection' service for online sales/purchases?

    Exclamation Does DPD offer a 'cash on collection' service for online sales/purchases?

    I'm selling an item (low value, £250) on Facebook Marketplace and a buyer wants to send a DPD courier to collect the item and give me an envelope of cash.

    Is this a service DPD provides? Seems odd.

    Thanks

    Someone offered to do this for one of my sales on ebay before. Basically I looked into it and it was dodgy. Think about it, a DPD driver is somehow going to take an envelope of cash and be the same driver who keeps that envelope and gives it to you? That would be monumentally expensive to basically commandeer a van to pick up and drop off the same envelope.

    You'll be asked to pay 'insurance' which the buyer will 'refund' you except they won't and they'll have your credit card details

    Any mention of:

    * cash on collection
    * my brother/sister/uncle Tom will pick up
    * will pay you extra for some gift cards
    * need to upgrade to a business account
    * need email to do bank transfer

    Just block.

    Yes, this scam is purely to get you to pay a fee for something. I've had it dozens of times
