Seiko SARN001 seems to tick your boxes (if a little fussy)?
So does the Fortis Spacematic GMT
I'm looking for a steer here:
I have a "grail" in mind, but have never seen what I'm after.
The ideal is a Clear, Easy to read, GMT with DAY and Date.
Those of us who actually country hop with some regularity, have a bugger of a job remembering what day it is.
I'm in Oman for work right now (just missed seeing Mike Wood )
and have two watches with me.
This one for work
This one for falling on my ar5e when out on the MTB
What I want, what I really really want (sorry, the music in the pubs here is truly awful)
is a cross between the two.
something like
But much as I love the madness of UN, Seiko is actually easier to read.
I really just want a Seiko 5, with a GMT hand, made by GS . . . . .
Well, actually, I want DAY on the GS . . how hard can that be ffs ? (apparently italian for railway network . . (ffs))
anything out there like that ?

Seiko really does do everything I want!
Mad hard to read tho.
(i had to enlarge the image to FS on a 15" monitor to read what was going on)
ticks all the right boxes, the UN beats it for legibility tho . . . :-(
No Day on the fortis :-(
( have two labels I affix before I go to work, one is labelled "elbow" t'other "ar5e") :-)

Whilst it's not a proper GMT, the Ball Trainmaster Worldtimer does offer different time zones and has day and date.
Bloody ugly though!!!
That GS looks absolutely stunning.
One of the Oris Complication models would cover it (although the second timezone isn't the user-friendly hacking main hands type). There is a choice of styles with the same (interesting) movement too - Big Crown, Artelier, etc
eg http://www.oris.ch/en/watches/oris-a...4-07-5-21-71fc
compared to
it is a dogs dinner . . .
but looking at the GS, with day tacked on inside the date, it would "unbalance" the dial significantly . . .
Not an easy design job, The UN is growing on me . . . . (it's a bit of a mess too tho)
p.s. thought you should know, photo taken with an iphone . . :-) and a hangover.
amazing what good light does.
I do love Blancpain.
Good to hear the dog's safe Roy! ;-)
Googled the Blancpain, not entirely..... nuts expensive . . . . (less than 12k, but the UN is in that ballpark too, and it wins on "nuttiness")
The seiko still has it hands down on "pop" and dare I say it, class . . . (the BP is a bit fussy on dial detail)
great suggestions gents !, someone, somewhere, must have done a classy iteration of this complication . . maybe?
but they seem to have done a slew of the double gmt's . . (and they are messy)
Adam, it's not the dog who was scarred for life . . .
The Peter Roberts watch? GMT, plus day / date (and even month).
That Peter Roberts watch is like the car Homer Simpson designed!
implies past tense, so probably available. too steep for me . . . :-(Mr. Roberts sourced only Swiss and British parts. He will hand-finish each movement and will make all 44 examples. Concentriques in stainless steel will be numbered 1-44, except for 10, 20, 30 and 40. "The decades are reserved for the rose gold ones," says Mr. Roberts. In stainless steel: £18,000/€21,000; in rose gold: £28,000/€32,800. (info@peterrobertswatches.com)
Seiko SBGM031 limited edition Blue dial, I think.
Jura have the ivory version (SBGM021) for £4k: http://www.jurawatches.co.uk/collect...gm021j-gsk-018

Thread drift: but.
I think I sent you a PM after you asked on the Friday thread?
If not:
It's a Seiko SBGM031
In production now, has been for 1 year.
LTD edition but 1000 pieces and as GS only turn out 4000pcs/year, wouldn't worry about it too much.
New they are $6300 / E6300 list price.
Discounts can be had buying outside the EU, be careful of import taxes.
Used, can be had $3500 - $4500 usd (couple on fleabay now) OEM (Seiko) Straps are ridiculously expensive, not far south of 1000 quid from Jura (The main GS AD in the UK) the one in the picture is on a Hirsh Viscount blue Gator strap.
19mm lug, OEM strap tapers to 15mm, Hirsh tapers to 16mm so the OEM Deployant doesn't fit, a Replacement from Seiya Japan is $200 usd (16mm)
The back of the watch is pretty funky too :-)
[IMG][/IMG]
The rotor is some kind of Tungsten composite and the "tokyo stripes" on the back are mesmerising in the sun . .
and if you are really sharp, yes the Hirsh has different coloured stiching from the inside to outside . .
Thanks very much for the info, it is a beautiful looking watch.
I didn't get a PM from you by the way but thanks for your attempt if you tried
