    Spring Drive diver incoming

Got this yesterday from Molle - Love it to bits. I can't stop watching the second hand glide gracefully round the dial.

Beautiful watch Andy, I was sorely tempted myself (even though I have it's Ti sibling), congratulations!

By far my favorite GS, at 44mm it sound a bit on the large side for my current taste, how does it wear?

Cracking watch and IMHO the best in the range, style-wise.

I would possibly have to plump for the TI version, as I expect the steel one to be a lump and a half. Great profile though, unlike the MM600.

That's a great looking diver Andy.

One that's also on my small list of wannahaves.

That gliding seconds hand is a cool feature, that's why i have my stopwatch always on when wearing the Ananta.

    Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

The wrist shot shows how it wears on my 7.25" wrist - not too big at all. It's not that heavy either - lighter than the Doxa 5000 I just sold, or my Sinn 757.

Lovely, Andy. I suspect it would be too big for me, but perfect for your slightly chubbier wrist

Lovely that. First time I've seen one of these. Much better than the horrid hex bolt thing on the MM600.
I'd love to see that on a fabric strap.
You may want to change your sig now though..... :)

Not yet - I'd like to compare my SS with the Titanium version side by side.

First time I've seen that particular version, what a stunning looking watch. There's not many watches that I see and instantly think that is must have! Although I think it will be a little to big for me to carry off...Congratulations on the watch...enjoy.

P.S. Out of interest what's the packaging/presentation box supplied like for this watch?

I can't believe you sold both of your GS divers

Still have the GMT and chrono?

The GS diver, SBGA029 in steel, is 44.2mm and weighs 215g which is a bit massive compared to the SBGE001 GMT (43.5mm, 177g).

I think for everyday wear comfort I would go with the SBGA031 diver in Titanium which offers a more agreeable 137g total weight.

Still, a fabulous looking watch. Enjoy, Andy!

    Do you like Titanium watches?

The Seiko Bright Titanium has similar sheen and surface texture to stainless steel, but it does tend to have a yellowish hue under certain ambient lights. While I prefer the looks of stainless steel, one reason I have not gotten the diver is weight of the 029, which adds 40g to the maximum weight of its SD GMT sibling. The Ti diver 031, should be far more comfortable for daily wear, only 137g, but it is another $1200 USD over the steel version (Comparing both retail stickers).

The 031 has yellow gold lettering on the dial which, depending on your point of view, may add more visually. However, I tend to like the plain silver font lettering on the steel version.

Congrats! Got my first SD last week and the hand sure is mesmerizing. The absence of sound takes some getting used to though. :)

    Yes.

    I had a 3536-01 & 3719 IWC Aquatimers & I currently have a Pelagos and a Panerai 177.

I just have to have a GS Spring Drive....

I think it has to be Titanium, so the choice for me is between the SGBA031 Diver or SGBE015 GMT.
There's no doubt the SGBA031 is a darn sight easier to buy than the Japan home market GMT.

First, Grats on a fabulous watch Andy!
Second, I haven't seen the actual box for this watch, but should it be any different from other GS boxes?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261312913549 – that is about 690000 Yen, from a retail of 735000 (inc 5% sales tax)
There's currently two showing for 498000 as pre-owned, so I'd say there's room for negotiating.
