    Omega WWW

Acquired this Omega www last year but the hands are slimmer than on other similar Omega watches I have seen. Are these correct or have they been replaced at some time ?

    Congratulations on the watch.
I've seen that kind of handset before on an Omega. They look very much like MoD hands. JLC's sometimes have these as do others, e.g. the Vertex WWW.

    Best wishes,
    AP.

Never seen a www with those hands... I'd be inclined to think they were replaced at some stage. How does the lume compare to the lume on the dial? That might give you an indication.

The hands have apparently been there for some time and, as AP suggests, they are probably MoD replacements. In my view that's no problem, they were most likely replaced by MoD watchmakers (who wouldn't have seen the need for identical replacements) during service.

Military watch collectors like the WABI and history of military use on their watches so you can enjoy this piece as an unspoilt military Omega.
