I can't quite make my mind up about it, but am looking forward to seeing one on the new grey NATO strap.

Looks much better with the larger lume plots… Interesting!

Great visibility from this dial with a quick glance I would imagine.

Only 8mm thick will be perfect for those who don't need a massive bulky watch on the wrist.

Doesn't the movement have a date function?

Fun and fresh case design and no-nonsense face and hands. Very good. Well suited for summer leisure activities!

Will the movement be the ISA331/103 (which I don't know) as its says on the draft or the Ronda 715Li, which was discussed earlier? Are they even significantly different

    Cheers,
    Gert

You can't get 8mm thick (thin) with the 715Li.

No, that's right of course. The 715Li literally sits on top of a whopper 2016 cell. The moderate 8 mm height will be nice since this watch will spend all its time on a NATOs or other one-piece straps

    Cheers,
    Gert

I'm having trouble visualising the north-south size of this. Any chance of a side-by-side with a watch we know well, e.g. PRS-18Q?

You'll findthis image on the previous page, on a 8.5" wrist.

Looks like a proper Yorkshire arm very useful for insulation and deflecting rain thus keeping the wearer both warm and dry!

I'm warming to the design. I didn't like it at first, but I like the dial changes. All my watches have springbars, and I worry about breaking them off their straps at work. So, fixed bars and sheltered crown like this are very interesting to me.

Lightbulb How well will it wear ?

I like the futuristic design, but I'm wondering about the comfort value on the wrist.
It looks like a huge amount of metal even on Eddies wrist.
Regarding the design,i did stumble across a Poljot/Vostok ? from approx 50/60's which was quite similar to this,it just goes to show how advanced the Russian have been in the past!

Interestingly, I showed my other half the mock ups and she also mention it looked like a lot of metal. I wonder if the early designs with a turning bezel would counter act the a bit? My thinking now, is if it looks like a lot of metal on Eddie's wrist it could look a hell of a lot on mine!!

Not small from what I remember…

My wrists seem to be shrinking at the moment… which could become an issue!!

I have to say I agree. It's a bit like marmite this one - I suspect reactions both way will be quite strong.

When I was first sent the design, I dismissed it but kept going back to look at it and it must have taken a good month before I decided that it really was worth doing. Of course it's not going to be for everybody but which watch is?

When I first saw it I though err nope but now I'm thinking mhmm not sure so it must be growing on me but not sure how it will go with with my 7" skinny wrists.

Looks really nice. Something totally different. I like it and if it is not too big, I will order one for sure.

  39. #189
Yes I like this and would most likely buy one, bezel would be nice for timing, date I don't care about

    Very nice indeed

    Hi

Is there any update on this watch or possible timescale for availability?

    Cheers

Agreed, the effect comes from the simplicity.

I can't remember when I last used a bezel for timing and I far prefer to use a phone/tablet/computer to check my diary (including the date). They don't forget how many days there are in a month ;-)

The movement has a date function so at least you'll be able to hear it click over at midnight ;)

Date would have spoiled this design IMO. Nice original design, looks very 70's, although as a skinny wrist folk it won't be for me.

If you are going to use Smiths then maybe you could re-style the logo? EG:

Precista or Smiths does it for me, I take it the crystals acrylic Eddie? And is the bezel separate or as one with the case? I'm eagerly awaiting the finished watch........Can't wait!

It's sapphire and I'll have to check the drawing about the bezel. I know there was some discussion about the bezel and I can't remember which way we went.
