    Panda dial watches?

What are the options to get something that looks like a panda dial Newman Daytona or AP ROO....but for circa £3/4k? Appreciate I could save a bit more and get a ROO off Chrono24 for circa £6k but is there anything else out there with that classic panda look? Are there any daytonas with the panda dial that aren't circa £20k!?

Just to be clear by panda I mean black dial and three white sub dials...

Mitsukoshi dial Speedy Pro, there's another Speedy Pro with that dial configuration too but can't remember the model ref.

Wow, that is perfect! Didn't realise they did one like this! Are they available new or just secondhand? Would go with my tudor jumbo!

I also love the fact it's got a date, that's one thing that puts me off the daytonas.

Time to do some research on these then!

If you're not averse to a little research and effort a Movado Datron might tick your boxes. Same Zenith El Primero movement as the better Rolex Daytonas but not dumbed down, so maintaining the high beat and date function.

Some nice watches there but I think foxy100 has nailed it for me!

Is that a silver sunburst dial? From just looking quickly I think I 'need' one with silver sunburst dial, black sub dials, black bezel with the small numbers on and if possible some red text on the dial somewhere?? Is that combo available does anyone know? And how much should I be paying for a good one with box and papers?

The silver sunburst dial with black sub-dials and polished tachy bezel is also really cool....

Not so keen on the polished bezel tbh, I prefer matt generally. Also not keen on the bracelet on that one.

    Nice sunnies though! Persol?

This looks ideal, http://www.bachmann-scher.de/en/libr...-warranty.html pity it's sold!!

Any idea how much for similar?

Looks like the newer ones have tiger in red written on them which looks abit cheesy IMO.

I just re-read the original post, you can get the Tudor Big Block with a black dial, white sub dials and a rotating black 1-12 bezel. It's the one I'd like to have but I still stupidly sold the BB in my picture. Not sure on prices these days, sorry!

I like the blue details on the Zodiac. I'm guessing these are both pretty rare?

Another possible would be an omega 35th anniversary Apollo 11, they look very much like the Daytona I think... Seem to be quite rare though.

Surely panda has to be black sub dials on white? It just makes no sense to be the other way round ☺️

...and have just the two sub-dials, unless we`re counting the third as the Panda`s nose/mouth?
OP, are we counting the thrird as the Ursidae nose/mouth?

In trying to look abit like a vintage Daytona then yes, three dials required I'm afraid..

But here's a pair of old Breitlings that can be found for a fraction of the cost of a Daytona...if you look hard enough

11erv beat me to it! The Breitling 812 is a fantastic vintage watch with a contemporary look. Should be able to pick one up for less then 2k.

Correct, black subdials on a white dial is called a panda. White subdials on a black dial is called a reverse panda.

As recommended earlier in this thread the manual-wind panda Autavias are fantastic too...

Entirely gratuitous opportunism to post an image of a beautiful and cool woman wearing her namesake watch:

As you can see, she's still a bit of a WIS and remains as cool as ever: http://de-de.facebook.com/pages/Nina...19043008106093

The beautiful Sinn 103 ST SA looks like a £3K watch, but I think was actually about half that price.

The current 103 Klassik (c. £2K) is less lovely but closer to your criteria. There is too the 903, if you like that Navitimer look.
