Really, I thought the trailer looked a bit poo.

Maybe I'll give it a go.

Kingsman was good, if not a little strange, IMO the 15 rated bits could be cut out, possibly leaving a better 12 rated film.

But there are some very funny moments, esp at the end with the Princess which had me laughing very loudly

Thoroughly enjoyed the Kingsman. The Monster's ball - Billy Bob Thornton and also enjoy Guy Richies RocknRolla

Another thumbs up for Kingsman - went to see it on Saturday with my wife (who was very dubious about going to see it) & she enjoyed it very much - very silly but some great action set pieces (especially those with Colin Firth), Samuel L is great, it's quite violent (hence the 15 rating) in a ridiculous over the top comic book sort of way & there's a nice bum at the very end of it :) :)

I enjoyed the Equalizer. Walk among the tombstones was ok and Kill the Messenger was a ok read - I had read some of the book it was based on and saw it on the plane so thought I would give it a go.

Kingsman - another vote from me and my boys, really good fun and more violent than expected (which is fun in these kinds if movies!)

American Sniper - Just superb, watch it!!

"If you save the world, we can do it......." (don't want to spoil it for anyone), is one of the all time funniest things I've ever heard in a film

Can't comment on The Fury but I found The Drop to be very average. The feel of the film was very odd - it's one of the only films I've seen in recent times where I got the impression that the actors were actors on a film set. It wasn't terrible but it just felt laboured.

Walking Tall (1973) Based on the life of Tennessee sheriff, Buford Pusser. It's so bad that it's great.

My wife's best friend, who is very 'posh and well to do' told my wife she was planning on taking her boys to see it at the weekend. I had to chuckle as my wife warned her the end 'has a reference to bottom sex according to my husband'! I wish I'd kept quiet, I'd love to have seen her reaction sat between her teenage sons!

Just watched Kingsman. Very good. Reminded me of kickAss....which I also loved

Watched Righteous Kill with Pacino and DeNiro - a bit cliched but not too bad. I started to think that DeNiro and Pacino were taking the Mickey out of themselves. They began to look more like actors imitating Pacino and DeNiro. Last really good ones were really TV pieces: True Detective (which I watched in one sitting so it was more like a movie) and the brilliant UK Red Riding (also TV but at one sitting).

I just watched 'Gremlins 2' with my 9yr old daughter and forgot how brilliant this film was, I was laughing so hard at the subtle in jokes, fantastic!

Another older film I always thought was great, is 'Deep Cover' with Laurence Fishburn and Jeff Goldblum, (by far the best thing I've ever seen him do).

Unfortunately it seems to be out of print, (or what ever the dvd equivalent is), as there are no reasonably priced copies for sale :-(

    Whiplash.

Never knew a film about jazz drumming could be so intense and riveting!

The Drop. Slow based crime based thriller. Very enjoyable.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - some great gags and Megan Fox - nuff said :)

  26. #2076
Still Alice - very good (8/10) but very sad at the same time , gives a very accurate view of someone diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's.

Snowpiercer - weird post ice age disaster movie set on a train. Better than it sounds and has a pretty stellar cast - Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, John Hurt and others.

Seems to be a joint Korean/ USA/ UK production, never heard of it but my son who is a bit of a film buff recommended it and was pleasantly surprised. Not for the squeamish though, think Oldboy on wheels at times :)

Jonathan Glazer's threadbare sci-fi 'Under The Skin' is superb. Very strange and enigmatic film made all the more weird by a really unsettling soundtrack. Looking forward to watching this again.

I saw Birdman yesterday. I loved it. Very different, certainly held my attention. It did scream "I'm doing this to get me an Oscar" but I can't remember the last film that lingered with me so much after it has finished !

We gave it 30mins and switched it off. The only thing that lingered with me is that Michael Keaton now owes me 30mins of my life which I won't get back.

    The Rover - Guy Pierce
    John Wick - Keanu Reeves

I thought both were superb, especially John Wick...

Oh and Nightcrawler with Jake Glyenhall - deliciously dark!

I watched Betty Blue last night, it was probably the first time I'd seen it since the early 90s. A very long film, but still enjoyable.

I'm told, as I haven't seen either movie, that it is the same director. I might go and see it next week

Yeh, enjoyed Gone Girl, didn't think I would.

Watched The Third Man again last night after not viewing it on my new TV.

Love that film, the ending is one of the best, second only to Bladerunner for me.
