nice
... and as it turns out its got a handy macro function.
Considering its smaller than an iPhone the results aren't that bad (albeit a bit noisy), ideal for those impromtu macro watch shots when i've not got a DSLR on hand.
thats really good. I love the detail in those AP dials.
what is the movement you have photographed?
Great pics those .... what camera is it??
I'd like to know what it is too.
Those results aren't too bad at all.
Clearly a decent lens on that camera. I'd also like to know what it is and what depth is it waterproof to.
It's a Sony DSC-TX30
I bought due to being waterproof (10m), and small enough to pack away with little weight/bulk, and assumed the macro function was the typical gimmick mode that point and shoots have.
Turns out it works, and has handy ring lights for lighting up macro shots (could do with a polariser though)
Might try out some macro video tonight :)
Decent pics I need a new one but need it to have a depth of 20m for when I'm diving.
Some nice pictures and thanks for sharing the camera info. I'm looking around for a camera and considering the Sony DSC RX100 III. I am going to read up on yours though, seems like a real handy pocket camera!

I have one of those and got some great underwater shots of my daughter swimming on holiday, plus as you say, it takes a half decent normal photo too.
Overall its a decent enough pocket camera, a massive step up from your average phone camera and not much bigger. Perfect if your outdoors hiking/camping and need to reduce weight, or the weather isn't too great and you dont want to risk an expensive camera. Plus underwater shots are always a bonus.
But depending what you want it for the RX100 may be a better choice though :)
The TX30 is an ideal holiday camera, or backup to a main camera, but the trade off for the go-anywhere size, waterproofness are the lack of any manual controls (iso/shutter speed etc), heavy reliance on touch screen and slightly fuzzy image quality (less obvious when the images are reduced in size)
Still need to play around it and get used to it, only had it 48hrs!
Less than ideal for diving, although this guy did a test down at 60ft & 80ft

Even if it can theoretically survive those depths, its capacitive touch screen renders any control useless once its slightly wet, and the few buttons it does have (power/shutter/movie & zoom toggle) are way to small for use with gloves
Lovely shots, there is a photography sub forum here youkno.. ;)
