By far the best first post i ever have, and no doubt ever will see.
welcome to the forum.
wow I cant stand long posts but thats a great write up we can all relate to.
Nice taste in watches
By far the best first post i ever have, and no doubt ever will see.
welcome to the forum.
Really enjoyed your first post. Loved seeing how you progressed from er.. gaudy Police tat, to the wonderful watches you have today.
The PAM 372 was my first Panerai too and it's a real classic - superb design. Realising it was just too big for me I eventually sold it but I've just bought a 44mm 8-day PAM 590 at the weekend which I'm loving. Sits nicely alongside my rose gold Reverso, so I just need a Sub to match your collection now!
Funnily enough, I also tried on the IWC Big Pilot when I got the 590, but sadly confirmed that's it just too big for me. Shame, it's a watch I really like and has an eight day movement which I'm always drawn to, hence the 590.
Enjoy yourself here my friend!
ive found my journey has been dictated by my pocket...started with a nice enough Accurist for £50 and now ive got a much smarter Longines for close on £800
Welcome and great journey you've told...!
yep hell of a post love the ghost bezel sub...respect sir respect.
That was a great story.
Getting a bit of your individuality and personality in every new purchase.
Looking forward to hearing about the next one
Varsågod :)
Well it's just an old Volvo to be fair and guess I was dressed for a special occasion during that shot
The watches do help to achieve that feeling anyway :P
Thanks for taking time to read, and thanks for your kind reply:)
Yeah that watch looks like something MB&F creates but costs some digits less
Thanks alot for that advice, will surely keep that in mind next time
Yeah it became a wall of text, which I dislike as well, but thought the content of it all was quite ok :) Tried to write it as personal as possible so that people could relate.
Thanks alot for liking it :)
Thanks alot for these kind words
I did not in my wildest fantasy think that people would appreciate it so much!
Love those models as well , something about pilot/military watches that sings to me.
Thanks alot, think I need all the luck:)
Yeah it's an amazing piece and it's really big. My wrists are 6.5' to be honest, so the watch is in fact too big for me, but I don't care what others might think about that But I might come around when I grow older and dislike the size.
Hehe then I take my hat off for your impeccable taste in watches A gold reverso beats me everyday though.
That's quite a big achievement to go from that Accurist to your current Longines I would say :) And yeah money dictates :(
Thanks alot for the welcome and the time you took to read it all :)
I did bleach that bezel myself with water and chlorine to be frank :D (could not wait another 50 years to get the natural effect) Thanks alot for reading it and liking it.
Thank you alot :) Feels like I've changed my taste alot during those few years, and it's been a funny and expensive journey so far. Will post my next purchase as soon as it happens, but doubt it will be during this year :(
Blimey - what an introduction and what a manic 4 year watch spree! A refreshing insight reminding many of us of the 'journey'.
Welcome to the Mad House.
I have to agree with the comments above, a super first post. The Reverso TT1931 is simply superb. I had a black dial TT1931 and a Rouge, a few years ago. Loved them both. Sold them both. Why? Khoma knows why. As do all of the above.
That is quite a journey and in such short time too. Once the bug bites there's no turning back time...
Just read this.
A great post and very interesting to see your 'watch journey' OP.
The only thing that spoiled it for me is your Avatar
Welcome!
Excellent thread!!
Fantastic watches
Välkommen!
The Swedish contingent is growing... I'm a halfling :D
my journey to wisdom started with the glossy adverts in car mags when i was at school, followed by trips to the jewellers with dad for the odd seiko or casio lcd back in the 80's. Then i took a dive into the argos catalogue and onwards and upwards to goldsmiths (well argos dont do longines yet...or oris...not yet any how)
Great post, I enjoyed reading about your watch journey and looking at the photos along the way. Welcome to the forum.
