Traded it against an Astra VXR. I still have a little cry now and again about that decision.
I once had an Astra gte 16v,I've always liked the Astra but they don't hold there money like a ford RS,I think you know you cocked up

Worth checking out KGF Classics for memories and some real time warp specials, I'd much rather drive any of their amazing finds than today's bloated boring motors:

That's because it had about the same weight and structural integrity of a crisp packet.

A mate of mine had one too, and it was very nippy.
So clever my foot fell off.

Following that YT link I found probably the one car above all others I'd like to try, sadly BITD a stock 1980 Renault 5 Auto was mine not one of these below that I'd wager is more fun than a garage full of modern super cars:

Boy, does Davide get to drive some proper old school desirable motors. :)

It is bonkers, sorry but as this is a superb topic with a long way to run I *have* to post some pics :)

Goodness know what a sorted one is worth now...

The other car I really remember well was a friend's 128 3P - just any of those late 70's/early 80's especially French/Italian hatches were so packed full of character and fun and I'd give anything for a garage full:

I'm sure I have some pics somewhere in the loft from my pre-digital days, but these are as close as I can find to the cars I'd like to own again.

Anybody remember when everybody wanted a 911 and the 912 was a poor relation? I sold it at the peak of their unpopularity!

And a bog standard S2 with the classic 5 spoke alloys.

I'm still very fond of my first ever car. a Renault 5 TL, but only for the new found freedom it gave me as a young man, but no way would I want to own one again! Mine caught fire actually, not long after having the brakes sorted.

Had to go just because I was doing about 1000 miles a year - sold to a friend who scratched it after about 20mins of ownership. The car I've loved most of any car - had loads of new Mercs and none have come close. I'll own one again at some point.....

Not really into cars, but I was fond of my Fiat 126. Some sort of shock absorber in the gearstick stopped working properly and it became near-impossible to change gear. My dad had the gearstick shaft spot welded so there was no shock absorbtion at all, after which it changed gear with an oh-so-satisfying hard and extremely positive hard CLUNK. Had to have the petrol tank replaced as well, it was leaking and the car stank of petrol. Nonetheless I really liked it.

Ah, memories. That's all about 30 years ago now.

    Thats the Integrale isn't it?
My boss had one years ago and had it converted to right-hand drive. He was a huge petrol head and his company cars were all Pug 205 and 309 1.9 gti s.
I bought one of the 205 s off him and to echo a few on here, it was a little belter.
One of the best ever .

    Thats stunning.

I had the 16v non evo model in the late 90's. electrics were hugely temperamental (on mine) I was scared to use it as it was meant to be as I knew I wouldn't be able to afford to fix it if anything serious went wrong. I nursed it through a few issues over about 12 months and then just accepted I couldn't afford one full stop whilst being a student. sold it and bought an E30 M3 instead...... An expert in financial suicide through car ownership me

Don't have pics but my wife and I had a British racing green MX5 when we lived in Sydney in 2002. It was a couple of years old and we loved it. Not sure I'd have one in the UK and now we have kids it's no use anyway. Loved touring the Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley in it, clear roads, amazing scenery, perfect blue skies. It was the right car in the right place at the right time.
