Here's as good a place as any for an introduction. Quite a few end up in Watch Talk and revolve around the newbie's watches, with many a demand for pictures.

But the G&D is the place for a general discussion, so welcome to the forum.

Since you've mentioned it, what did you buy for your missus?

Seems you made a good choice, if that's the case.

Bad language is around, but is reserved for another part of the forum to which access is given after some time on the forum in general.

on the face of it it was but after reading up on a few things here I've learnt that as it as an after market bezel (which was disclosed before buying although i didn't realise the significance then) that i cant send it in to rolex for a service when the time comes as they won't touch it.

Have a look at the recent threads about servicing and you'll see that there are several independent firms/individuals who will do a good job. That should keep your missus happy...

yeah I've read a few and already noted a couple near me ,although what I've not seen is whether they use genuine parts. as from what I've read you need a parts account with rolex.

A couple of them are accredited with Rolex, but the best thing to do, with any of them, will be to ask at the time.

Lol not got the readies for this sort of game mate. You should have seen how long it took to save for the one I bought the wife.
Got into collecting high end vaping gear a few years back and even at prices way lower than watches was still a stretch at times.

    Welcome to the forum.

If you frequent here regularly you'll find that there's an awful lot of interest in watches at the lower end of the price scale as well as Rolex+ territory.

We're an eclectic bunch and take an interest at all price levels.

Should have mentioned I haven't wore a watch since leaving the forces in 1995. But you never know
