Add Drivethedeal to that list too.
I bought a fiesta ST from them 2 years ago and saved thousands.
Sorry if this has been discussed before but recently, I was speaking to my cousin who told me he'd bought his Jaguar via Carwow, and saved 25%. I'd never really looked into it, but it seems Carwow are pretty good, however there a couple of others who are even cheaper.
I've since seen people who've written on the net about using the quotes as bargaining chips with the dealers directly, or just going through the process via the brokers themselves with no issues.
For example, I've just quoted a BMW 340i and one of the sites shows up to a £9500 saving!!! A seat Ibiza FR was £16k down to £12k! I was just having a play around as I'm trying to avoid temptation, but if it helps anyone, the companies I've come across are:
Carwow
Coast2Coast
Broadspeed

Hi,
no experience of using them directly but recently used CarWow for a quote for an audi TT S line. Around 8-10% discount on a £30k car. My local dealer doesn't seem to participate though so would have to go to the next closest (Milton Keynes).
5 years ago I took a Drive The Deal quote with me when buying a new Toyota. It shortened the bargaining time somewhat. The dealer was expecting it and after his usual 'just need to clear it with my manager' nonsense, that's what I got it for.
I expect you could probably get lucky if a manufacturer has a car park full of cars they need to shift quickly, and of course cars in high demand won't be discounted much.

I was recently quoted a £4 saving on the Jaguar F-Pace. Must be because it's new.
Is there much difference between the broker prices?
Here's another I've come across ...

Thanks for the replies, there's definitely a large difference between the prices quoted in the minimal experience I have. It was the Seat Ibiza that shocked me. I expected higher percentages on more expensive cars, but to save 25% on a £16k car is pretty unbelievable.
I used car wow for an audi quote and my local audi dealer was the cheapest by 22%. However the funny thing was that the dealership is full of interesting characters and I have been in there before and they have never entertained any discounts or offers what so ever. I still did not use them as I am after a decent after service so I used the price too deal with another dealer direct and they matched it.
Recently purchased a car for the wife, got quotes from drivethedeal etc and printed the best one out and went to my local dealership - test drove the car, said I really liked it, this is the deal I can buy it for but if you beat that deal then I'll buy from him today. He beat the quote (only by £100 mind), and some further haggling saw free mats and boot liner, full tank of fuel rather than the usual dribble, metallic paint upgrade for free, 12 month VED rather than 6 you get on drivethedeal.
Missus loves the car, and if she is happy, I'm happy :-)

Just pinged a quote through for a C63 AMG and so far I have had a responde with a 10% discount, not too bad at all!
Another vote for Drive the Deal. I've bought two cars through them and negotiated two deals with the local main dealer (Audi) using drive the deal quotes. The dealers make it such hard work that I prefer just ordering from drive the deal, Px'ing is the problem with brokers as the dealer often won't buy your existing car or they offer such a low price its almost like being robbed.
Part exchanging will always cost you. Only good if you can't be arsed to sell it yourself, but expect to pay for the privilege. And the harder you negotiate your new car, the happier they'll be to to put you on a barrel for your old one.
'Against stupidity, the gods themselves struggle in vain' - Schiller.
Nowt flash, new model Kia Sportage, probably helped that I went in at month end (May bank holiday weekend) and during the test drive the dealer said things were very quiet at the moment.
In reference to the other thread moaning about dealers, I found the Kia guys at Gatwick to be really good, attentive, helpful, knew the product, didn't ignore the wife and daughter, and when I said about the drivethedeal quote and that if they could beat it they'd get the order they took it in their stride and went away and came back 2 mins later and beat the deal. Couldn't really ask for better service from them.
ETA : Coffee in the dealership was awful mind!

I took the Drivethedeal quote for an XC60 to local Volvo dealer and after the usual "manager approval discussion" they matched it. I didn't expect them to really as it was £6k off a £36k list but they could see I was more than happy to go home and order online.
I've used drivethedeal to get my local dealer to price match/beat for my last 3 purchases. I would happily buy via DTD anyway though.
They've currently got nearly £10k off a 'MERCEDES-BENZ E CLASS DIESEL COUPE E220D AMG LINE EDITION 2DR 7G-TRONIC' (caps lock there as just copy and paste!) which is unreal.
Going to do the same for my next motor I think as I'm fancying an XC60
My Dad bought a Mercedes from Buyacar in 2010. Got a massive discount and good people to deal with.
Tried price matching with a dealer but they couldn't get anywhere near the price.
The car ended up coming from MB Corporate, as per the number plates.
Have also successfully price matched at Audi and Fiesta dealers agains Drive the Deal in recent years.

Used DriveTheDeal for both a VW and an Audi - easy and hassle free.
I tried for a comparable quote with both at my local main dealers - Audi didn't even try to discount and refused, VW couldn't get that low according to the salesman.
anyone got any links to van discount places?
particularly a vw Kombi transporter?
C2C routinely offer circa 15-20% on higher end BMWs i.e. £30K plus, less for the cheaper models. I printed out a C2C quote for the spec I wanted on mine, walked 5 mins from work to my dealer and the guy agreed to match the paperwork after about 3 mins of the usual nonsense. There are higher discounts still available from a London dealer (I think it is Berry Heathrow) via their specialist internet forum dealer rep. He posts on babybmw.net amongst others under the name TRL. He can typically offer circa 22-23% off a M140i depending on options. You will need to join a forum and contact him via that but they can deliver countrywide and are a proper main dealer so there is no downside vs a local other than travel to collect or delivery cost of course.

Be aware that you won't avoid all the dealer nonsense with Carwow as that site basically asks dealers to bid against each other for your business. Ultimately you deal directly with the dealer, unlike C2C where the car is trailered to you (if my memory serves) and it is a more remote relationship
Sorry to hear that. I guess it depends on dealer, time of year, volumes achieved vs their targets etc. I really also expected a big fat "no" so I was very surprised. I know it was a good deal as a year later I went to their new XC90 test drive event and the branch manager remembered me as "That guy we gave the ridiculous XC60 deal to". I think it also pained them that I refused all the extras like gap insurance, paint treatments etc. I did feel a tiny bit guilty so when I needed a removable tow bar fitted and a good 4 bike carrier I got them to do it with the official Volvo stuff (and paid their very full fat price for it).
Had zero quotes via carwow for a Discovery - guess Land Rover dealers not interested......
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
So an interesting story. I used one of these sites to get a quote for a car. They were several hundred quid cheaper than my local dealer. Anyway I'm not one to use these sort of sites 'cause I reckon they're diddling the suppler with a commission. So I contacted the car supplier/dealer direct and said how much for the car. They came straight back and said because I'd gone direct and hence cutting out the middle man then they wouldn't have to give them any kick back so they'd knock another six hundred off selling direct to me!
If you're motivated by a huge discount then you're only getting it because it's a car that a) needs selling and b) it will still depreciate heavily.
All the big manufacturers are chasing the same customers and volume equating to market share.
