You could always go with a vintage piece. Rocco worked his magic on my case :)

I think they tried various different configurations but just couldn't get the symmetry right. You get used to it If you can get past the date thing then the watch as a whole is pretty stunning.
I don't have my own picture of the case back at the moment but here's a stock picture.

None of the opening two I'm afraid.
if I had to go blue it would have to be AP, Tudor or Rolex.
Not in that order though necessarily..
Cant take credit for the pic but these simply cannot be beaten...
Omega for me :-)

That one seems a bit of a bargain - in particular if the discount code referred to on the Chronext thread still works.
Hamilton gets my vote, in fact I have been tempted myself....
Truth be told that's my old one, I flipped it, regretted it and replaced it. I don't have a picture online if my new one but it's the same animal, I even have it on the same strap  cost me a few hundred quid that flip, and the one I sold was MINT condition :?
That Longines is really nice. What is it?

Ah, figured it out - Longines Conquest GMT I believe. Good value too by the looks of things. Around £800

I believe list is £1050 but you'll buy one for £850 easily enough. NOS only now, production stopped in 2012.
Oh, and in the flesh it's much nicer still. Real quality feel too. One down side is the winding rotor mechanism is quite noisy, they are known for it. Doesn't bother me and I thought it would.
I love the large movements too, much better than having a date windiw 1/4 inch from the bezel.
I'm actually thinking about buying that Longines today. I don't have a blue face or a Longines so may itch two scratches.

They have one on display in Birmingham Goldsmiths. I don't know where else you may find one but they are easy enough to find still.
Recently added another blue...
I love the retro styling, markers, high crystal, sunburst dial, large crown. All of it - I just need to find a nice brown strap.

As others have said, it's very much a matter of taste.
Of the two OP watches, I really like the Hamilton and its lively retro look but I dislike the Omega.
Absolutely dig all of the Tudor snowflakes, Pelagos, etc.
It so subjective.
The one below is fantastic too, great design indeed.

If you want a blue faced watch, then the Omega 2531.80 owns it, IMHO
I also love this, but it's marmite!
But you don't have to spend £££ for something blue and great, behold for £59 delivered:
