    Some impressive engineering

    https://youtu.be/sKTck_Xbuyc

Spotted this on another forum. Probably already posted and maybe not a perfect fit for here. Some slightly crazy watches with some just as crazy prices.

    These are very interesting watches.
The only reason it may not fit this forum is that most of them are more than 36 mm which is the upper limit of wearable for the knitting circle here:-)

The engineering is very impressive but often they're examples of form over function.

I do like that Hublot though!

I think the knitting circle is significantly outnumbered by the forum's clown posse. I'm seeing more and more clown watches on the Friday and new arrival threads lately :-)

    You think so?
I still think the clown posse is outnumbered.
Or may be just the knitting circle is more vocal/opinionated:-)
We need more of the clown posse though, to strike a balance.
BTW in US,one has to be careful using the word posse. You need to make sure which group of people you are using it for.Otherwise,it might cause a furor.

I prefer my watches in the 38-42mm range.

Does that mean I can't be either a knitter or a clown?

The clown posse is definitely nore opinionated. Just look at how many times they draw first blood so to speak. Thankfully I am not in the US. Do they grab you by the posse?

There's a few in the range I'd take over the others.

What's impressive though is that someone has put all that time and effort into engineering these watches. Yes some might be ugly or a pain to maintain but it's like the saying of owning an Alfa Romeo. They have the looks and when they work right it'll but a smile on your face, that's gotta be the most important thing.

Depends how big your wrists are! 42mm on a small wrist is definitely in clown territory.

I'm already regretting opening up this can of worms..

Very interesting video. Not sure if it's the video but the printing on the belts on the Devon looked dodgy?

Most are simply madness but utterly amazing at the same time.

While I could never realistically hope to afford watches of this type and if i could would probably not buy one (although that HYT is tempting) I am glad that this kind of madness exists in the world.

The Devon Tread watches looked particularly awful to me.

All very interesting but none I'd actually want to own even if I had the disposable - they are all just too flash.

Reminds me of a dyson, fantastic piece of kit from an engineering POV but totally hideous to look at
