Rolex Sports models in Goldsmiths today

Goldsmiths in Newcastle had a selection of models in the window today. I pass this branch often and not seen that for ages.

I thought some here might be interested.

Given the rumours of discontinuation, I'd be interested to know if there was a SD4000 among them.

I had noticed that right through the drought they've been readily available but I haven't seen another this year.

No SD4000 then. Given how common they were when most other SS sports were so rare, something's obviously changed.
Available for £6950 at Iconic though.

The SD4000 is a lovely watch. There's a new mockup of the 50th anniversary watch on Rolex passion report, not sure I like the 43mm and the cyclops

Wasn't the predicted anniversary SD with blue writing and blue minute markers. I did have an image saved, but must have deleted it. I am inclined to agree that the crazy bunch won't shift from the Daytona queue to the SD queue, but will just end up on both lists.

Do agree though, SD plus cyclops is dreadful.

I do like the propotions of the sea dweller, but wouldn't be interested in one with a cyclops.

If the sd is to be discontinued I would snap one up. Prefer it over the sub date.

Rolex Sports models in Goldsmiths today

Deacons have had a few in this year, sub date, black GMT, various explorers. They are my local dealer and always found them nice to deal with, bought more jewellery though than watches and only one Rolex.

They are a Grand Seiko AD too.

At 43mm it's going to appeal to another level of customer, there has always been discussions about the size of subs, so this is going to please a lot of people, myself included.

No Rolex show list on line, allow about 5 seconds for web page to reveal " show price"

Rolex won't allow AD's to sell online hence you don't see the prices on these sites, Rolex official site has been showing the price on the majority of models for a while now.

As for AD windows I can't remember not seeing a price!

Never in London or the south east. I have my name down on various lists for a GMT ll BLNR with my best position being 3rd at Goldsmith's in Chelmsford. No sports watches in their window when I was there a couple of week ago.

They did say to me that the week before that has a sub no date that they call 3 customers for and they all declined it. As such that went in the window and sold the same day.

    Maybe luck

Possible BLNR PM on its way

Looks like Goldsmiths had a delivery day!

I'd genuinely be fascinated to know how much of the most popular sports stuff makes it to the window, how long it sits, and how much that varies across the country and between larger/smaller or chain/independent dealers.

I find it bizarre that these watches have an almost mythical status owing to distribution. They're not exactly rare really. Plenty have and will be made.
