Just made a £5 donation myself.
Just one point to note. Having done some fundraising recently, I have been told that its not possible to claim gift aid if your buying raffle tickets, competitions etc
from http://www.institute-of-fundraising....-competitions/
Gift Aid on Raffles and Competitions
As a general rule, Gift Aid cannot be claimed on the proceeds from raffles and competitions, as entrants have purchased a chance to win, rather than making a voluntary donation to your charity.
However, you may be able to organise your raffle or competition in such a way as to make it eligible for Gift Aid. For example:
Donations on top of raffle tickets
When a donor is buying a raffle ticket, you can make them aware that although the price of the ticket is not eligible for Gift Aid, any additional donation made on top of the ticket price will be eligible for Gift Aid. This additional donation must not qualify the entrant for additional tickets or benefits. If the donor chooses to make a donation as well as buying a ticket, they can either complete a Gift Aid declaration, or make an oral declaration which can be followed up with a confirmation letter from your charity. Gift Aid can then be claimed on the donation but not on the ticket price.
Donations when entering a free prize draw
Instead of running a raffle, you could hold a prize draw, where entry is free for all. Whilst entry to the competition is free, voluntary donations can be made by entrants. Entry to the competition must not be dependent on whether a donation is made. Any donation made by an entrant will be eligible for Gift Aid (as long as you obtain a valid declaration from the donor)
I'm in for a fiver. I love these fundraising exercises
To keep things squeaky clean I've made a second payment into the fundraiser, the first would be an "additional" donation and the second being the entry into the draw without the gift aid element.
All for charity so it's all good
Well, I somehow managed to make my donation anonymous but it's just in!
Nice one, thanks.
Matthew
Nice gesture - in for a tenner

That's a great start folks - I am hoping that we can make a good amount for the fundraiser with this!
great initiative
Great gesture Velorum - my donation is in.
I think that seabiscuit has joined as I can see a donation from him on the fundraiser site
Anyway, this is where we are so far
If I have missed anyone that has donated so far please let me know!
I will of course update this as more come in - which is of course a good way to keep bumping the comp to the top of the page!

Great gesture Ian, there's a fiver from me.
I'm being dim but can someone post a link to the fundraiser page? In return, I can tell you that providing Ian allows people to enter without making a donation (he is obviously free to name and shame anyone who does) then we're OK with gift aid...

Well if you consider that making a post on this thread in effect enters you into proceedings and this cannot be made conditional on paying anything then I would guess that that gift aid requirements are in fact met. I'm no expert though so I must leave this to individual judgement.
I would find it astonishing if anyone who hadn't made a donation's name was pulled from the hat of course................
Perhaps you cant see the fundraiser link because you have ads blocked?
Anyway, see if this link works:
