But I really like the look of this Certina DS, I think for a little over 220 quid you can't go wrong, but I'm really trying not to let the quantity of my collection get out of my comfort zone again so trying to resist, specially as I've already got an incoming Watch in the post...is it just me or is this Watch appealing to the eye?

Quite possibly discontinued, but seen the odd one on Amazon and eBay

It’s awesome, and shows what can be had in a Chronometer for sensible money. You are going to struggle to get anywhere close for almost double the price imho.
It's just a matter of time...
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192433670166

Agree Scott.

It's on what looks like a nice deployment clasp, and the caseback is to die for if you like caseback's like myself, it's a deeply machined marine turtle, I like the date at 6, the applied hour markers are a cool shape too, please my fellow TZ'ers, this is an appeal for you to snap them up as I don't think I will get through tomorrow without caving in

I feel PMPM is doing some online research lol

Yeah 41mm so not to everyone's liking, but not a problem for my wrist, yes very nice, but you could have fibbed and said it was horrible lol

Its a clean smart looking watch, I like it.
I would buy it if I were you. Certina make fine watches, and the turtle case back is a nice bonus.
My daughter has a Certina Caimano, btw ... different watch (and no turtle) but well made for the price.
But I've been clean from buying Watches for so long, apart from the skx009 that's in the post :-) I was doing so well

These are great watches, especially for the money. They also look great on a variety of straps, so super versatile.

Very nice Marcus thanks for posting, still resisting the temptation of this Watch "at the moment"

To the OP, resistance is futile, so stop fucking about and just buy it! 😉
I went through this myself a few years ago, but found a cure, and have been clean ever since. Well, when I say clean, I mean mostly!
^^^^^ This!!!

Certina really makes fairly attractive pieces for the money. Too bad is not widely available outside of Europe.
Got the metallic blue dial version as a birthday present to myself. 200m, screwdown crown, chronometer, acceptable bracelet, lovely turtle on the back. You really can't go wrong for around £200.20180321_110523.jpg

A better photo of the very nice blue dial.

Still enjoying and wearing this regularly, at last` 2-3 times a week since I got it. Set it on the Saturday before the clocks went forward and 2.5 weeks later it's lost less than a second. Not that bad.
I really like that, I have a soft spot for Certina’s, for me it would be a no brainier at 39/40mm so I’m in 2 minds, having just bought another watch. Currently watching a black one on leather on e-bay.

Once you’ve been bitten , there is no cure . If your like me , you’ll like something new every six months or so and that collection will keep growing . Only help I can offer us to have a one in one out policy . That helps you to have discipline and to buy well in the first place

My ambition is to get down to four watches and not buy another, at least for a year or two.. whether this is realistic, I don't yet know.
The 'core' is supposed to be a Rolex SD43, a Datejust, a Glashuite Original and a Zenith CP2. Although, if I bend the rules (which I invented) I could keep the Grand Seiko 253 manual-wind as well.
'Going' are my lovely IWC Portugieser and a gold Omega chronograph.
This is the plan, but as a military genius once said: 'no plan survives contact with the enemy.'
And the 'enemy' here is....me.
Fair point. Well, these two I have sold and there's no return . Neither going by post!
One went through SC, the other to a friend.
My CP2 didn't sell on SC, but I'm happy to keep that. Great watch, to my taste.
And my Grand Seiko 253 manual didn't sell. I haven't decided whether to keep that . At some point, the price is just too low.
My plan is 'four watches' but I've just seen 'kingkitaga' is aiming for just one watch....now that really is brave. He'll be like a 'normal' person. How odd.
So, this would be my 'retained' collection.

Mine would be three; these two plus a non date three hander. I was thinking Explorer but the white dial OP is now another possibility.
Replying to the OP.
Your collection looks great, but lacks a beater. Yes, you have an SKX incoming, but the Certina will be quartz, grab and go, back up. Hope this helps.
Seriously, it looks a very decent watch for a very reasonable price.
I don't really wear a Watch as a beater, i generally take any Watch off if theres a good chance of damaging it, the SKX came a while back, in fact I'm wearing it as i type now, decided against the Certina despite being an appealing Watch, i did have a cheap Casio but i just didn't wear it.
