    Watches with offset dials

    All,

On the lookout for something a bit quirky and I love the offset dial look (Dunhill Xcentric, in particular). Have any of you come across decent looking watches with offset dials? Looking to add another one to the collection now that I'm selling the motorbike!

    Cheers,
    John

I happened to see a few Glashutte Original's with offset dials for the first time yesterday.

They always looked like a largish man's watch with a ladies' watch dial in photos to me, but in reality, they looked exactly like that!

For me, it's a gimmick that defeats any purpose - A small watch, is small and easy to wear, whereas a big watch is easy to read (or full of features), these are the worst of both worlds in my opinion.

Still, each to their own, so if you like 'em, and the oohs and aahs every time anyone posts a Glashutte one suggests some do, fill your boots

Quite like it if the watch also has a Big Date outside of the dial like this

Yes I agree that having the dial offset is somewhat detrimental to purpose, but if I'm honest I'll buy a watch because I love how it looks rather than based on its' practicality alone. Call it my inner vanity sneaking out :p

Depends on the budget really. GO and ALS are the big ones that spring to mind, but for more affordable options what about the Hamilton Jazzmaster Regulator?

The only reason to buy a watch!

I think I suffer from OCD with symmetry, they just bug me

ETA my CJR Airspeed is like that Jazzmaster (nice!), but I don't think of either as offset as they have the centre hand minute and circumference markings.

Very nice, think I prefer that to the Moonphase version.

Very easy to read the time and date in one glance

I really like that. I'm a big fan of white dials anyway and the off set dials look great.
