    Hi All,
im a newbie here and was hoping to get some advice on Breitling watches.
In Short I’ve seen a Breitling on a web site called Watchmaster.com a Breitling Chrono Titanium Avenger (Breitling being the watch’s Ive always wanted to own) firstly is this a decent internet retailer....? or are there other ones I should be looking at in terms of good reputation quality control and after sales service, I would be grateful for any advice.
    thanks in advance.
    jonathan.
Either you lied when you told us that you’d bought the watch or you lied when you told WUS you were thinking of buying the watch.

    Which is it?

    And your point is.....?
Your clearly too simple to see that the above proves my point about having nothing to do with the company ect also second opinions are sensible how you see this as ammo is at best funny (note also how I don’t mention this forum no axe to grind) I refer you back to my opening sentiments, it’s incidentally also known as trolling so all your doing is, (and I thank you) proving my point.

Second opinions are sensible before you buy the watch.....not asking 2 forums after you purchase the watch. If you can't see that then that's your problem and no ones on here.

Assuming for a moment that I’m thick and therefore unable to read between the lines, have you bought the watch as you told us a few days ago. Or are you considering buying it as you told WUS today?

Most importantly, which one is the lie?

One of them has to be and therefore his point is proven.

The OP is clearly a troll or a former member with a new ID. I think this thread should die with no further responses posted.

Why let it die when you can send it to watchmaster instead?

Jesus Christ Jonty, you're 56 years old, why are you having an argument with people on the internet? Why do we matter so much to you? Is there no one who loves you who you can talk to instead?

I've just been looking again at www.watchmaster.com and Watchmaster ICP UK Ltd ( the UK entity named in their T&Cs: https://www.watchmaster.com/en/uk-terms ) and would be interested if you could clarify what has changed recently. Shareholders of the limited company? A director? A manager?

Despite any "change in management," I note their peculiar practice regarding price claims continues:

    https://www.watchmaster.com/en/rolex...ode=SB397DXPUP
    When was a 116710BLNR £8,460?

    https://www.watchmaster.com/en/rolex...ode=SN9Y1X47KH
    When was a 116610LN £6,900?

    https://www.watchmaster.com/en/rolex...ode=PO5PM5UYA8
    When was a 114060 £6,450?

Watches are offered with finance (9.9% APR) which makes the company subject to the Financial Conduct Authority and its principles of TCF etc.

Is Watchmaster ICP UK Limited dormant / non-trading at the moment?

"Do you think my watch is not good, dodgy...?" Why do you ask? I have made no comment on your watch. It wasn't possible without seeing it. Now you mention it, though, the lack of a photo (when you have said you are able to post one) is odd because "this is first and foremost about watches" (your words) rather than the "politics" (by which perhaps you mean joining a forum and immediately posting twice in celebration of a dealer, which is what you did).

"You were daft to draw your conclusions about me based on one post" - would you please highlight the text in my posts where I drew a conclusion about you?

"I’m happy with my new watch as I suspect you are when you purchase a new watch" - I must confess, the novelty for this correspondent has somewhat diminished.
    Jonty

It pains me to be a voice of reason...

    but Jon,

get off the internet, pick up the phone (or whatsapp or facebook, however people do business these days) and get that watch returned.

however badly you feel you’ve been bullied and mocked here, no one’s laughing at you harder than watchmaster right now

don’t try and have a discussion with them, don’t try and dazzle them with your genius, just get your money back

Wow, classy guy. Just caught up on this thread and the way you receive advice is really suspicious. Whether you feel bullied or ganged up on, you've bought a watch from a company that appears to have some very poor reviews, and even worse, there's an issue with your watch as documented in a photograph you've supplied.

There are some truly great minds on here, and people with a wealth of experience. People who have experience in the trade amongst them, and therefore, people who's advice and views are probably worthy of taking at least a bit of note. If you take out all your replies from the thread, and read the underlying context, there's a whole lot of replies erring you on the side of caution for various reasons.

Yes, there's a negative tone on here a lot lately, but people still try to help others out for the most part; it's no different on this thread, just don't take everything said to heart. As Adam has said above, return that watch!

What an absolute ridiculous thread, the watch posted is troll bait, whoever this Jonty character is must be loving at the amount of attention this has received..

Having a pop at established and respected people here is a sure sign he's joined up to wind up, people like this need to be universally ignored so they are in fact ghosts and receive no attention from anybody..

I think you guys have got it all wrong - I reckon "Jonty" is creation of one of watchmaster's competitors.....just think about it

P.S. I have a CA too - one of my favourite watches.

I don't have sympathy for the cry of "bullying" here.

Extending the earlier analogy (even though I don't drink myself), the chap has walked into a real ale pub clutching a Lidl bag that contained a tin of shandy bought therefrom. He has banged it on the counter and shouted "I can't get over how good Lidl are! Do you all think the same? And what do you think of this little beauty, eh?" while waving the generic can at arms length in front of the startled regulars.

Upon receiving a few grumbles and indeed the occasional peanut thrown from the back of the room he has visited each table in turn and either farted, burped or spat in front of the previously-contented drinkers. Even the most reasonable and patient ones who engaged with him were lucky just to have a crisp packet emptied in their laps.

After half an hour of his failing to recognise that he has chosen the wrong audience and addressing them in a most unwelcome manner, regulars have increasingly suggested that he "wind his neck in." A figure in the corner, who appears to have been waiting for a domino partner since 1976, stands and raises a hand in the style of Neville Chamberlain. The room falls silent in great expectation. "Gentlemen, this is bullying and we should respect the new-comer's opinion" he announces.

When a smaller party recklessly, aggressively, persistently - and dishonestly - challenges a much larger one, it does not follow that a proportionate response from the larger one is bullying. Let us also keep some perspective: we are a group of adults at keyboards, any one of whom is welcome to leave at any time.

Mr. Tiffin appears to have been caught by his own lies; let us hope that he now disappears.

There is no bullying on this particular thread. New members with ulterior motives are often outed, usually quite quickly, and for good reason.

There are a few do-gooder responses on this thread that undermine the forum’s integrity in my eyes. Those members either need to read the whole thread, in context, or take a good hard look at themselves.
It's just a matter of time...

Nothing to do with the original post, but that made me laugh.

    Jonty,

I’ve had nothing to do with what’s been said during this thread, but I’ve had a read and one or two childish giggles. Like you, I’m new to this forum and though, in my opinion, you’ve not given the best impression of yourself, that isn’t really the point. You came here for a helping hand and though you might think that help has been quite harsh, and it has - you did get it.

If I were you, given the cause for concern in respect of your watch, I think you mentioned a 14 day grace period. My advice, as the man in the street, would be to use that grace period and return the watch.

In a previous life my colleagues and I would say that if there is any doubt, then there’s no doubt. I think that applies here. Given what you paid and what you were expecting, return it mate, get your money back minus the postage, take that small hit and learn, as I think we all have had to at one point or another, from the experience.

Let the dust settle, have a think about how this all got out of hand over nothing worth arguing quite like this about. Then when you’re ready for a new watch, come back and let’s have a chat about watches.

I don’t want to get dragged into the wider falling out but hoped you might take the perspective or advice of someone who hasn’t given you a barrel/or both for your trouble.

You’ll do as you will, of course, but I don’t think you’ll get better or friendlier advice today.

Do you believe he bought a watch?
    After all this?
    Sad indeed.

It doesn’t matter, does it? One way or the other. Whether I believe it, whether you believe it. It’s time not to nit-pick and actively look for trouble. God knows I have some odd jobs you could do around the house if you’re bored?

Point is, the lad got his advice and I don’t think the casual observer could be in any doubt about what happened. Maybe it’s time for everyone to lower their weapons and put their energies to things that, well, matter at all?

If there’s a watch to be returned, good luck to him. I like to hope none of us get so wound up as to wish a fellow man the misfortune of losing a not insignificant chunk of money for the crime of faffing on the internet.

    Don’t you think?
