I'd get one of the many talented people that make straps to sort you a strap. Pav on here is very good.

Thinking of buying a Hodinkee strap for my Heuer telemeter calibre 18 and would be interested in any feedback on quality as they are quite pricey. Are there are any cheaper alternatives I should be looking at?
Thanks

I go to Giuliano in Italy. Do a search on here and have a look at the kind of stuff he does:

I'm sure I read that JPM (Jean Paul Menicucci) in Italy makes the straps for Hodinkee?
Watch Obsession in the UK sell a selection of JPM straps and they're cheaper than buying from Hodinkee.
The best looking leather straps I've handled have been the collareb ones. https://shop.colareb.it/index.php
Try Bulang and Sons. Really nice straps and you get 10% off the first order.

I've also got a Colareb strap which is superb.
I should think so too at their prices. They must be having a laugh.
Check out WatchGecko's Italian handmade. Great quality for less than half the price.

When I had my Telemeter Calibre 18 I wore it on a Hodinkee strap and think it worked well with the dial colour. This was the aged grey leather strap.
No complaints about the quality of the strap, but yes they are quite pricey.
Found another pic:
I haven't had one yet but Molequin might also be worth a look.

I'm not sure exactly why but I don't really want to give Hodinkee my money.
In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
Steveo Straps are excellent IMG_2394.JPG
But this app isn’t good at loading photos

I'm a fan of unlined shell cordovan straps, and I have a few. The Hodinkee one was the most expensive but is far and away the nicest of them all, despite the fact that they're all supposedly cut from the same Horween leather.
I took the plunge and ordered a Hodinkee aged hunter green and have to say I'm impressed. The texture and comfort is excellent. I may also look into Molequin straps as an alternate option, as suggested.
I’ve just ordered a Molequin saffiano; I’ll report back as soon as travels permit.

Looking good. Regret selling mine.
I recommend getting hold of calibre 5 or 6 carrera bracelet for it as well:
If you're looking for cordovan Nomos gets my vote!
I really struggle to get short straps and luckily nomos have smaller sizes!
