I wasn't aware they wobbled that much, but it may differ by movement/hand type too.
Some with older watches with chronos will only reset the hands when they've just passed 12 to minimise the force being applied to them when resetting.
Saw on WUS. I did not know that chrono seconds hand jumps back and forth while you reset it.

I would suggest there is little or no damping on the movement, probably needed to ensure it sweeps smoothly. F=mXa all over again.

Just took a slow mo of the reset on my Speedmaster. The hand jumps back to the 11 marker.

If you watch this video from 4m30s - the chap places a piece of paper at 10 o'clock on the face of a Valjoux 7750 powered Hamilton. You can see the paper get flicked off the dial as the hand resets.
