Interesting to see, nice work.
Well December has only just ended but I have managed to gather the month's data in good time (not being at work helps). At the end of November we saw the numbers for Rolex drop off a cliff and the question asked was whether or not they would start December in the same vein. All shall be revealed shortly, but first the headline numbers.
After November's record results we slowed down a little in December, posting a total of 643 watches which is the fewest since way back in March (not sure about you but I can barely remember that far back). A total of 115 brands were shared (the lowest number since April) of which nine were new to the Friday thread. This means we didn't achieve 400 brands in the year but we did hit one of my arbitrary targets, one brand for each letter of the alphabet. Thanks to the efforts of the EarlofSodbury who slipped in a Q+Q in the dying moments of the year the stubborn gap under Q was finally filled.
Now to the nitty gritty (but in more of a Norman Cook style than a Johnny Dynell one). Rolex did indeed start December as they finished November, tying in third with Omega with 18 while Seiko sailed away into the sunset with 30. However Seiko's cruise only lasted a week as Rolex pipped them to first by two (21 to 23 respectively). Timefactors crept in to third with 13 while Omega slipped to fourth with 12. Normal service resumed on the 18th with Rolex on 25, Seiko on 20 and Omega on 14 and TF on 12. With the tight finishes in the middle of the month there was a possibility that Seiko could take the month, going into the last Friday they were still five ahead. Unfortunately, with the last Friday falling on Christmas day, there was a high chance that we would dress up for the day, wearing our more precious timepieces. And this is how it panned out with Rolex steaming to 32, 17 ahead of Seiko which had the same numbers as Omega (15).
Elsewhere there isn't much to report. Hamilton, who started the year off quite strongly but tailed off, recorded their joint highest weekly count (four) but couldn't translate that into a good monthly score. Oris also equalled their weekly record (three) but did succeed in hitting a new monthly high of eight. Of the nine new brands we saw the aforementioned Q+Q and we also saw our first Jaquet-Droz. The pick of the new entrants has to be the Brook and Son Submarine Commander's watch, an interesting historical piece which I hope that Animalone will write about for us.

Interesting to see, nice work.
Good effort on the numbers and great write-up - many thanks for taking the time to pull this together.
A cracking piece of work as always.
This year was a little more tricky as well as there was a Christmas Day Thread as well as a Friday thread were you able to amalgamate the results as I am not sure if everyone posted anything in both?
Excellent stuff as always, thanks

Thanks for putting this together Wimm - an amusing read

Thanks for your sterling work! I would have thought that Timefactors would do better, but I think a lot of owners post their images in the Time Factors Watches sub forum in dedicated model threads, where you obviously get a plethora of shots of the same watch.

Sorry to point it out, but Sinn might be missing from the list.
Great work as always and an interesting read. :)
Thanks for compiling this information. Always an interesting read.

The only one we have had this year was a Xeric.
We had one example which appeared in July. You wouldn't have seen it in this month's list as I don't list watches that haven't appeared in the month. It will be there in the summary for the year.
Very interesting OP - many thanks for taking the time.
Thank you.
