Awful thing. You are not wrong.
This watch. £14,000. Really? Looks more like £14.99 from a crane grabber on Scarborough sea front. Maybe it's the photograph but that dial looks like it was printed on cheap inkjet paper.
I think I must be unappreciative of its charms and am guessing that the dial is probably hand painted and inside will hold some true horological delights.
Does anyone own one (or any Arnold & Sons for that matter)

If you want a painting, buy a painting...not a watch with a mini-painting on it.
I love that painting, and maritime paintings of that era! "A Fleet Of East Indiamen At Sea" -- used on the cover my Penguin copy of C.S. Forester's "The Commodore".

Oh yeah, looks awful on a watch.
Looks like something out of Viz

There is a history of the link between watch making and art. Some pieces add three or four naughts to the prices.
The ultimate “whatever floats your boat!” watch.
If you want a nice, classy hand-painted dial, it's hard to beat Doxa's pocket watches of yesteryonk...
From muff-divers to SCUBA-divers - what a ride!

Not my cup of tea.
Maybe they throw in the Patek Philippe glove (which is surely worth a few bob).
Hahahah on the muff diver!
If Franklin Mint did watches...
I love how you blacked out the muff diving but left the enormous phallus stroking.
Cheers..

Chortle! Missed it. I think it speaks volumes about Diversity that different people's eyes are drawn to different things...
Aaaaand it's a hotlinked image from an auction site, which makes it all the more amusing
TBH, if Eddie banhammers me for posting a sketchy image, he'll be doing me a favour - spent £insane since joining!
