    That’s one of three I am waiting for, others are SD43 & Kermit

    Order placed Saturday the 6th November. Originally I was informed it would arrive by the end of the month but they had their allocation from Seiko arrive earlier than expected.

    I liked the look of the Seiko SPB259 Ginza when it was announced, but I don't generally like to buy things without seeing them.

    Unfortunately that meant when I popped into the Seiko boutique, they had already sold out (note to self, just pre-order next time and cancel if I don't like it).

    After spending quite some time hunting around the listed dealers in NL allocated some of them, I found one not too far from me in Zaandam.

    Have to say I am pretty pleased with it.

    What I like;
    The dial, really nice interesting pattern.
    Blue seconds hand (painted, not blued)
    70 hour PR

    What could be nicer;
    The case Is a bit slab shaped, but not bad as such, the SARB033 shape is nicer IMO.
    A signed crown would have been nicer.
    Would prefer nothing on the caseback glass, or a non see through would have been fine IMO.

    What I don't like;
    The thickness, which is exaggerated by the case shape.
    19mm lugs, which limits the strap choices, as most of my watches are 20mm so I have quite a few straps that I can swap between them, but nothing in 19mm.
    A bit more micro adjust on the bracelet would have been better, it's a bit too loose, but if I take out a link, too tight.
    That stupid prospex logo.

    Lovely full set 1990 silver dial Datejust. Just need another blue and/or black dial now.

    In my book that’s the archetypal Datejust. White/cream dial, baton indicies, fluted bezel and on a jubilee bracelet.

    Perfect Datejust.

    Love the Seiko! It’s been on my wrist ever since it arrived even to the point that the Breitling SuperOcean 42 that arrived on Saturday hasn’t been on the wrist yet!

    Will definitely keep it when the Tudor arrives.

    Looked at my OP41 a couple of hours after getting it. Looked like a crack, felt like a crack.

    It was sherbet from my Sherbet DibDab.

    Thanks, apparently sold out in quite a few places already, this was a case of a fair amount of phoning around.

    I was a bit surprised to be honest as it's, "limited" to 3500

    About 4 months, although I had prior with the AD - who said that they wouldn't even allocate one as a first Rolex any more, which surprised me!

    I was so tempted to ask for details on the ‘experience to land one’.

    Grey or AD ?
    How much jewellery did you have to buy within last 12 months?
    Do you still have both kidneys ?
    How many ladies bi-metal datejusts do you now own?

    This and the Pelagos are the two nicest Tudors but the rivets aren’t for me. Thinner than I thought but still a bit thick. I’ll give it a few weeks and see how I get on.

    I was offered by an AD but if I bought it I wouldn’t be offered the white face one which I prefer. If I took it and flipped it I’d be risking being sent to the naughty step.

    From an AD. Took about 18 months, maybe a bit more.

    Bought a 9 carat signature ring for wife and a James Cameron last year. Pepsi when they were released.

    They've been great with me and know that I don't 'flip'.

    I just got back with the Pelagos FXD.

    It wears very comfortably on my 7.25inch wrist.

    Just on a single pass Nato for now whilst I experiment with the oem offerings.

    Shame St James no longer offer a dial swap. I'd want the white too, seems to wear bigger which helps with the thigh wrists!

    Had a 335 for almost 4 weeks. Couldn’t cope with the screwdriver and trying to undo the screws. Swapped it for this Stainless steel brother the 270 with much more manageable quick release pins.

    I picked up a Spinnaker Fleuss recently and I have to agree, they are lovely watches for the money. It's a Strap Monster that goes with virtually anything I pair it with. Enjoy your one!

    Lovely that. I’ve seen a couple of these hand wound Zeniths on the forum and they look very classy. This one has the nicest dial.
