Residuals are decent, as the VM was a limited edition I ended up paying a premium to Watchfinder to get it, but secondary market is decent generally.

Thanks for the info! I am encouraged by the 8yr warranty on these now..

The dimensions are pretty similar, not zoomed out but size wise not a huge amount in it and the case isn’t as thick as I thought it was going to be

    Panerai appreciation thread

I promised myself that I would finish 2021 with the same two watches that I started with. I wouldn’t be buying anything and I wouldn’t be selling anything. This is something I’ve not been able to achieve since joining this forum in 2013.

And then this came in the post this morning. Picked up from the sales at a price I just couldn’t ignore. It’s also a model that I’ve been looking at since the summer with a view to adding at some point.

Tbh I didn’t actually think it would come until next week and not opening the box until after midnight wasn’t going to happen was it. So I’ll try again next year.

Trying it on an old Zeugma strap first.

New in today. I have missed the flexibility of a steel Pam (strap monsters) and I regret letting my 590 go. We never learn.

Lovely 915 with sandwich dial, very similar to the 590 so I am chuffed.

Not sure if people have seen these. Leaked releases for this year.

Not sure any will get me to jump off the fence, but broadens the appeal. https://www.facebook.com/groups/476648472433746

It came from Burcherer Uk. They were boutique only when they were released in 2019. I guess they’ve dripped into the AD network as time has gone on. I think Maplin &Webb currently have them listed on their website at RRP. It might be Berry’s I can’t remember.

44 submersible is a nice size.
esteel is complete joke but as they are not highlighting in blue, like they did on first releases, I will live with it on the dial but prefer not.
Bezel I think is like the usual shiny ceramic on Rolex etc
Overall I like the blue and green but the colour then limits strap choice that will work so a trade off there.
    Could be tempted……

Love the 590 but the 914/915 is lovely too mate.

Hoping to have my own Panerai incoming soon as well….if Bucherer stop messing me around that is.

I always enjoy the photos on this thread. It's strange how tastes change. I used to think panerai were ridiculous, oversized monstrosities. Then I started to enjoy their uniqueness and started to go hanker for a luminor, had to be big, had to be a fiddly. I still thought the subs were horrid mashup of luminor and other brands typical divers but now I'm lusting for a 0389, love the look. Still no love for radiomirs though.

I’d always admired the brand from afar, admittedly I also thought they looked too big etc…. Tastes definitely change, though, always had been an Omega Man, bought my fist Pam last year and haven’t looked back, at first I really really disliked Radiomirs, but lately found myself wanting something with a 1940’s case.

It’s 100% a brand that seems to grow on you…..

Loving the 995. At the moment I haven’t found that “one” strap that just does it.

Not the easiest watch to photograph but the domed glass is wonderful.

Vintage baseball strap currently being tried.

    French oiled ammo

    Old Zeugma strap

    OEM Beige Scamosciato

Love this one, was thinking of upgrading the 590 to one. For me it is one of the best modern Pams, then as i am sure i have said many times I'm a sucker or an 8 day movement!

And with regards to the new range of Subs i think the 1226 is the business

That's stunning, a really beautiful watch with a great colour dial.

Re the straps the Zeugma and the French oiled ammo work best IMHO.

This thread ain’t helping me from non purchasing. I am looking at a Pam for my next purchase - first watch this year. Planning to visit my local AD in Almancil about 1/2hr drive from home. They apparently stock R*lex too so I wonder what they have there. I’ll see.

Not sure what you might be looking for Martyn but check out the 1226 which hopefully is available later this year, personally think its pick of the bunch coming up.
