Does anybody own a pair of these?
Do they 'true to size' - I'm an 8 to 8.5 in most shoes that I buy.
Thanks
Mike

I’m size eight,my Panama Jacks are a tad large but that allows for thicker winter socks.
Thanks both

30 years after my last pair at the end of my student days, I'm breaking in these 1460s for this winter.

I've been enjoying these DM's on my return to the UK. I'll be back to flip flops by the end of the month.
These are the cemented (glued on outsole and sidewall stitched) range, as opposed to the traditional welt sewn and heat sealed construction.
Do these count as winter boots? They're constructed to be waterproof if that matters. Crockett & Jones Snowdon. Picked them up from their factory shop on the weekend...
Generally a lighter boot, due to less PVC in the outsole and lighter weight upper materials. Although they also have many styles in leather and also heavier weight industrial styles.
So I guess it is just a broadening of the brands range.
I do find that the cemented range is much easier to break in.
Not sure of the full list of opening times, but on Saturday just gone, it was open until 4pm.
Indeed, it tends to be full of tourists or resellers. There were 4 students from Sweden on Saturday buying 10 or so pairs between them.
This is a huge selling point for me.
2yrs of basically wearing slippers has seen my feet so pampered and soft that even wearing worn in leather shoes is not comfortable for long periods.
The thought of breaking in DMs does not appeal to me in the slightest right now. However I miss buying shoes & boots - that said there are still 3 pairs of unworn Barkers in the wardrobe.
Bought a pair of Sorel Caribou at the weekend and they came yesterday. Bloody hell these seem like very good quality winter boots! Internal wool and felt inner liner/sock.
However, I've ended up sending back today. Fantastic boots and value, but just seem overkill for me in the UK for my use at least. But would recommend on first impression for people who walk the dogs etc in winter
Great boots but your right unless your in thick snow they’re an Overkill. I haven’t worn mine for a few years now since I moved.

Don’t know what the Jason’s are but I still wear a pair of shoes bought from hoggs in the early 80s they’re totally bomb proof.

I guess I'm turning this into a more generic boot thread. Being on a leather sole, I'm less likely to wear these in the cold/with salt/grit laid down. Arrived this morning; Tricker's superboot in ridge kudu reverse suede. Trying to decide if I tart them up a bit with red laces.
Cracking those, big fan of trickers.
My new faves:

I've had a pair of Jason boots for years now and they've still going strong despite never really having been looked after properly. (Or at all, really, come to think of it.) I must have had them well over ten years now, although to be fair, they only get about three months' wear a year. They were dead comfy right from the start too and didn't take any breaking in at all. In the unlikely event of them them dying before I do, I'm definitely getting another pair!
I cannot bring myself to wear suede shoes because my OCD cannot deal with the first scars they will inevitably get from me but those are lovely. I’ll have your C&J if you prefer those, though

Ironically, I was wearing my Sorel 1964 Premium boots today but only because I was travelling to a ski resort!
They are too warm for almost anything in the U.K. and these ones are a bit more lightweight compared to the Caribou.
They are surely one of the best winter boots if you have “proper” winter mind
Treated myself to a pair of Viberg 2030 Service Boots this week.
First time wearing these in at least a year.
Waiting for something at St James so thought a pic would be very TZ.
Lot of the boots I see don't really look like winter boots. Too dressy and more like walk to the car and drive to the underground parking at work boots.
I used to try and take my daily walks in my Greb Kodiak boots, but no insulation along with steel toe and insole not so great.
Picked up a pair of Ugg Felton boots. No problem walking 2 miles a day in these. Even in snow covered streets and -20 weather. Feet warm and snug.
Most I ever paid for boots or shoes. $350 Canadian with taxes

They are Tricker's, called the Ottenburger. They were part of a special collection. In the words of Tricker's, "While looking through our archives in our Northampton shoe factory a couple of years ago, we stumbled upon a Tricker’s order book dated 1960. Among many of the beautifully handwritten orders inside, we found a request for special boots to be made for Sir Edmund Hillary and his Himalaya expedition team."
Thanks

I have a collection of red wings, trickers and grenson on that i love but they are more of a fashion boot than a winter boot
