MN Style Straps - How do you find fitting and fastening?

I find them horrendous. Is it just that I'm doing it wrong? I've watched a few videos and still don't get it. Do you have to have a larger wrist? Does everyone's fastener stick out at an angle or lie flat.

Surely a strap shouldn't be this much hassle?

MN Style Straps - How do you find fitting and fastening?

Is this stitched version or an open ended version.
The way you have it fastened does. Not look right
The clip should go in to one side of the double buckle the smaller single buckle is for holding the strap together
    Pics to follow

    I hope this helps

My hook isn't stitched in like yours, it floats.

You’ve got the strap on upside down. Flip it round, and you’ll find it a doddle to hook it in.

I have several of the Erikas MN straps and to be honest they are fab. Very comfy and the buckle lies flat. Maybe try one of hers and it might work better. ;-)

Thanks but I won't be blowing £70 on a nylon strap that doesn't fasten properly ;)

Flipped it and it still doesn't work. They're going in the bin.

They can't do as the hook moves. It slides down and comes loose. This is as good as I can get it and wouldn't wear it as it looks ridiculous.

The clip does not go in the buckle
It goes in the double buckle if it’s not fastened correctly of course it won’t work

This strap is from the same maker
This is how it is supposed to secure

I have lost the little buckle bit on this strap but that is to stop the watch head sliding as it allows you to tighten the strap

It's physically impossible for the hook to attach to the double buckle. It can only attach to the single one.

    You have it all wrong.

Yours is a CNS one, and this is one of their photos on their site.

    Which is annoyingly misleading.
You do NOT mount it like it is on the watch, you mount it like it is on the bottom right, with the watch mounted on the single thickness section against the right hand side of the photo.
In that way the hook is situated at the end of the strap, not halfway along it (which is what is kinkin it upward). The trifold (at the top) is slid around to adjust the size.

Next time try their parachute one, which I have just bought for my MN22, it is even easier, and also fits to fixed lugs

Thanks Dave that's better but now the watch head is too close to each of the metal keepers to provide any scope for getting it as tight as I need it. Any strap that's this much hassle isn't worth it. If anyone wants these two stupid straps, PM me your address.

The way to make it smaller is to use it exactly as I said before, but you put your wrist through BOTH loops, so that the back of the watch is on your wrist, not a strap thickness.
So, as per the CNS photo, mount the watch on the outside of the right hand face, where there is a single thickness.
Then put your hand through between that single thickness and the watch.........

PS - that white one is what CNS call the Parachute strap, not the MN one. you can tell as it has an open end, and a quad slide, not a tri-slide

pps - if you really don't want them, I'll have 'em

That's physically impossible. The strap has to be on the wrist. There's no possible way for the back of the watch to be on your wrist.

Ni. I'm Not. It's a physical impossibility to have the hook attach to the double buckle.

    Hilarious

If you want a decent elastic strap then the Strap Steward version is excellent. It works in a similar way but there is no strap under the watch.

You put your hand/wrist through the loop, then stretch the strap to hook it up. It also means you can move the clasp and hook to the centre of your wrist. Very comfortable.

Onelasttime’s photo is the only one I’ve seen that shows that configuration. I’ll try it.

Onelasttime - your photo has solved it, many thanks.

Dave (sweets) - thanks for your help.

    Saint-Just - I wasn't using the wrong buckle
