New bit of blue arrived this morning …
I'd forgotten what a PITA Seiko collar and pin fitments are if you don't know how to do them. Then I remembered the 'knack'
I'm well chuffed with this. It's the dogs knackers

No, that's far too easy.
This one is with a collar at both ends. Hopefully one collar should be firmly attached to one end of the pin already, then place the second collar in an outside hole, join the links and push the pin through so you have a collar at each end of the link.
The bit I forgot, or the 'knack', was to then use pin pushers at both ends at the same time and push them together to seal the deal.
I was farting about with the bracelet holder and the hammer, thinking I had to tap one end in, but of course it kept sliding out.
The ones in the middle are fairly straightforward once you get the collar in the hole. Collar in the hole, join the links, slide in the pin, then tap into place.
My new Seiko 6218-8971
Picked up the DJ41 also, I’ve gone through a lot of watches, haven’t felt so excited about one for a long time as I have with this. I’m glad to have rejected the rhodium dial last year and waited for the blue, the one I really want

Latest incoming, purchased recently from Doug86, a top man. It’s been on the wrist ever since. I have seen people online critically calling it sterile, I think that’s what appeals to me.

So a full day with it and my initial positive thoughts are reinforced. It feels really high quality - there is a lot of depth to the dial. Bracelet is reminiscent of another Swiss brand, can't quite put my name on it
Actually the bracelet itself is better finished than the other brand as there are a few more facets however the clasp is not close to being as good. But that aside everything else is wonderful. The 10 second counter is surprisingly effective - it is very easy to time tenths of seconds however I will say that having that sweep once around the dial every 10 seconds does evoke feelings of mild panic in me! Overall a wonderful watch though - very pleased with it and given the price point I was intending to go on a bit of a purchasing hiatus until Grand Seiko messed that plan up with the SBGP017!
I went on the list for this the day it was announced at my local AD. So it’s been just over a 4 year wait but they did come through.
Have to say it is pretty good !!

Just placed a pre-order for one of these. A French micro brand but not a brand I had heard of before but really like this design and colour scheme so why not!

Just arrived Bremont Hawking. Sensible 41mm size, cool complications, lovely symmetrical dial. I'm impressed.
It’s also ‘64 and yes ,dial is something else.
