I recall reading about people doing this in my pignorant-noob days and arrogantly thinking "The fools! I'd never do that!" ... . . . ...
I've pined for my original DC56 ever since I sold it, so I've just paid the thick end of £200 more to get another (admittedly better) example:
Love it! / Bloody ridiculous hobby! Gah!
New to me from Onelasttime. Forgot how good the lume was on these.
Keeping up the Seiko theme, I took this Spring Drive Tuna in a trade to try it out. At 50mm and god knows how thick, I am surprised at how good it looks and feels, I can certainly see the enduring appeal of the Tuna case style. It's a very well-made watch, fantastic dial and lume, with a supple rubber strap and matching titanium buckle and keeper. Impressed.

Thanks. It's a watch built by a very experienced member here using high quality parts to achieve the original appearance. It has a Seiko movement and I think the crown in particular is a great addition. The spec is superior to that of an original and one could argue, the current £1200 model....puts tin hat on:

Yeah I like the originals but I can’t really be doing with vintage stuff for when I want to use it in water. I’ve got a SLA033J1 version which in all honesty doesn’t really look any different to yours apart from minor things like the indices size and the text on the dial.

Couldn’t agree more .

Yeap they are very nice:) but the depreciation is hideous as MM300 buyers find out when they decide to sell:( Even the SLA033 suffered 2nd hand even though it was limited to 2500 which is hardly low numbers. That is why I don’t buy new anymore unless I know it’s a keeper.
How you bonding with your new to you MM300?

Reunited thanks to my pal Jim. He included a very nice waffle strap which I will use but wanted to put it back on this one tonight

This arrived today after a few years of looking for the right one at the right price.
Seems quite popular lately.
Thanks Ryan for showing us this lovely looking piece.
It triggered my radar, as recently been looking at Cartier, to get away from the "R" brand!
And seen some good reviews.
This one seems to tick all the boxes.
Doxa Sub 300 Carbon Whitepearl. So comfortable and light with great lume.

Thanks sweets! Really enjoying it so far. I've been interested in the carbon Doxas for ages. No unfortunately the date wheel isn't lumed and it's just the lume pip on the bezel. Would be good if the whole lot was lumed - the more the merrier imo
Couple of options for an upcoming holiday. My criteria was something fun to wear, inexpensive, solar quartz and fit for swimming.
Bit of trouble with the G-Shock being incomplete, and the bracelet for the Seiko is their typical fare (i.e. looks like it belongs to a different watch), but aside from that I'm pleased
^^^ Two very different but very nice watches there. :-)
Cheers, as midgetdata says, Damasko DC56 - more info here.
Showed up this morning.

I got myself the GS quartz GMT, SBGN005. I've always liked the look and the idea of this watch. Now that I have the watch I have to say this is... well, I think the most perfect watch for me that I've ever had. Finishing is Grand Seiko, I don't think there is any better executed sports watch existing. The size is just right for me - it's not small, but it's not big either. I like the sporty and sharp look, and the quartz GMT movement is just a perfect match for this watch. It's also the cheapest watch in my watch box (of higher end watches), and I can wear it worry free on my holidays and travels. Makes me think if I really need all those other expensive pieces in my watch box.
I have the same watch and totally agree
Although mine is the most expensive thing in my watchbox

Thanks Stefs! I can recommend the Carbon - feel free to ask any questions about it. The strap is quite nice - it's soft and flexible and doesn't attract dust. I like the way it flares out to integrate with the case too, I think it looks great. It also makes the watch sit low and centrally on the wrist - the watch doesn't move much. However whilst the clasp has a nice extension feature, I think it's too bulky. It's a bit like the larger Sinn clasps if you've handled one of those before. I'm also not a fan of rubber straps you have to cut to size - I find it a bit nerve wracking!
Here's a photo on the rubber.
