If you're paying for the electrician for their diagnostic time, depending on the cost I'd consider replacing the battery as an initial quick step. Best case it fixes your problem, worst case its one thing the electrician can discount as an issue. At 4 years and of "ok" quality, sounds like it might be about time anyway.

If you do end up buying one, don't go to Halfrauds or any big-name retailer. The markup is insane. Eg RAC are selling the Bosch EFB100 for £210...Tayna Batteries have it for £125 delivered next day (I'm not affiliated, just used them myself and recommended to mates, my go-to now). Please confirm thats the right one for your car though, I did a 1 minute Google its not a 100% confident recommendation!
Hi, my battery is only 8 months old, still under warranty.

A good quality one? Once bought a cheap Lion battery for an old car I had - packed in within a few months - I returned it and bout better quality one

A 10 watt bulb will draw near 0.9 amp, check the boot light isn’t staying on.

    Sorry, means nothing.

Lion are not known for quality or longevity.

Wing mirrors fold when you switch off ignition?

My folks had a fiesta that folded the wing mirrors but then kept trying to close them which drained the battery pretty quickly.

Yes, they fold closed when I switch off.

Might be worth listening closely to each as the motor made a slight noise in trying to fold the already folded mirror.

Either that or pull the fuse.

I do notice a variation in speed when they shut. It must be based on how well charged the battery is!

tells us that there are too many 2018 focus issues for anyone other than your autospark to be of use. Just make sure you’ve checked the head-slappers (tight terminals, *all* courtesy lights deactivating, no BT broadcast after shutdown) before you get him out…

    Good luck!

    Glove box light

    Hi

A friend in a 2009 Golf had the glovebox light switch fail and kept draining him battery - maybe worth a look......

Thanks. I have tested the spring pusher and it switches the light off when I have the box open. Seeing it going off when I shut it is nigh on impossible. I just thought, I could set my phone video on record and put it in glove box then shut it.

Update: After about 5 hours of elimination, my mechanic discovered that the door handle sensor was staying on and draining the battery. He removed that fuse and not had any problem since.

The problem with diagnosis is that it’s generally the last thing you test

Most of the fuses are in the engine bay and under glove compartment. A handful are in the boot. One of those is for the handle sensors.
