Any idea how much Rolex would charge to fix this?

This part of the clasp was pulled off when playing with a puppy, it was bent, tried to straighten it, but its not secure on the bracelet. Before I take it to the AD to have it replaced, any idea how much it might cost? The watch hasn't been worn much since its last service, so don't want to pay for a full service again.

    Thanks.

Given you’re in Cheshire you could try Prestige Time Services in Lymm. They’re Rolex accredited so have access to OE parts.

Good luck with it. Hope the puppy was okay?

Would Rolex even offer to repair? I’d guess they’d just try and sell you a replacement.

If no joy with Prestige, guess Seth would be worth a call.

Thanks for the recommendation, will contact them on Monday. Its needs to be sold soon, dealer offered £3300, so with the new part fitted that should help it sell for a lot more I hope.

The accident happened a few years ago, puppy is all grown up now, he's fine..

So they offered you £3300 with the damaged clasp? How much if it’s fixed properly? Hopefully something a little more generous.

My Sister has a Golden Retriever. Cost her a fortune in vets fees as he kept eating things he really shouldn’t. Like tennis balls, socks, sticks etc. Poor old lad now has to be muzzled when off the lead to protect him from himself.

What model is that? Seems ridiculously low as an offer, regardless of the state of a new clasp.

Its a 2013 Explorer 1, I had sold a couple of Rolex watches to the same dealer a few years ago and got a fair price, so was surprised by the low offer. The watch was damaged when only a few months old. It needed a full service, including new crystal, dial and hands. Not long after the clasp was dislodged, after which it wasn't worn much. It has its papers but no box, its a relatives watch btw, not mine.

I’d have made the same offer but I don’t need another 36mm Explorer Lol

I think if you had contacted Rolex at the time, they may have fixed it for free. Same thing happened to my Dads SD 43 out of the blue ( albeit, he wasn’t playing with a dog) and Rolex replaced it FOC.

Oyster bracelets are extremely sturdy, I can’t imagine a small dog doing much damage. I think the bracelet may have been faulty.

    Disgraceful offer for a mk1 39mm explorer

If you want it fixed I would go to an independent as advised by another poster

If you want more than you offer pop it on SC and unsure you’ll get it.

I wouldn't sell it on Ebay or even here, prefer to use a dealer, will get less but there's also far less risk.

There is not much risk on here if you do your homework.

I once sold someone something on here and left before checking my bank balance. The money didn't send due to fraud checks.

Sent a text and had the money in my back in about 30 mins. £15k so not a small amount of money.

I would trust most of the members here more than I'd trust any dealer.

    Couldn’t be more wrong actually.
You’ve got a lot to learn.

Anthony Farrer is doing his best to demonstrate just how risk free dealer sales and trades can be.

Seems a ridiculously low offer. A sale via SC could be completed face to face or you could have funds in your account prior to posting, * as that's usually the practice.

    * It looks like you've been a member a long time but a buyer might seek some proof of ID which I presume wouldn't be an issue.

Fair point, that’s a bit of wake up call for the industry. Could also apply to our to a few covert dealers here on TZ…

    Thanks.

When was the service carried out as I’d be straight onto Rolex in a nice way about how disappointed you are that something like this has happened .

I had an issue with a 1665 years ago and expressed my feelings and disappointment that the watch had developed an issue after being worn a handful of times after a service 4 years previously and they agreed with me and rectified the issue along with a movement service ( no new card issued ) but things might be different now .

Ahhhh but his tiktok account says he has a plan to trade his way out of debt and settle up with his clients. 5 million dollars at a grand a time... my maths isn't superb but that's only a few weeks of selling other people's watches right? While still driving a $100,000 supercar! The system works...
