I read that this morning .
Samuel is , IMHO, the best football writer out there.
No axe to grind, no relying on clicks , just good honest opinion . I was delighted when he left the Mail for The Times.
West Ham fan I think ?
But yeah, United are a mess at the minute. The fans can’t keep blaming the Glazers. There must be a chain of command between the owners and manager that have sanctioned Jonny Evans move to the club and that can’t get rid of Martial, Maguire, Donny van der Whatsisface etc . The Sancho loan deal to Saudi is another example of the amateurism of the people in charge .
And God bless ‘em all .
Goat, you post so much about united. More than those who support them.
You are right, there has been mismanagement, who employs these levels of management that are so bad, the glazers. who haven't been to Manchester in years, who haven't put a penny into the club since the £275m they used to leverage the ownership. Who have let the stadium fall into disrepair. It says alot when I wish levy ran our club.
As for the scandal aspect, the club will deal with it. It is deplorable if true, but the difference between our clubs is that if united players had all attended Mendy's partys where your players were passing girls around then we wouldn't have any players available, it would be front page, hardly role models
And before you say 'prove it' in your typical response to criticism, read the transcript of the trial

Nope it's the old, I can't be bothered, it's like shouting at the moon
It's when you defended Mendy on basis that he was proved innocent like 99% of all rape cases I lost interest in your opinion
Had a season ticket for most of my adult life, was in Barcelona and Moscow for 2 of our 3 big wins
Well done for finally winning in Europe, you'll be able to take the fake stars off your shirt now

Go back through the posts and find where I defended him . At the time I said he was a predator and a wrong un . I stand by that .
Well done on your badges for following in the great times . I take it you’re still a diehard red or have you lost interest ?
I went to Lincoln in the 2 nd division where we lost 1-0 on a Tuesday night in 1999 in the pissing down rain keeping us mid table .
I’ll keep my fake badges , thanks .
And non were transfer records. John Robertson and Viv Andersen youth team players pre Clough. Gary Birtles signed from Long Eaton Utd, as a side note I played in the same squad! Peter Shilton signed for £250K. Larry Lloyd £60K from Liverpool, Kenny Burns £150K, Archie Gemmil £25K
Nothing rose tinted there pal. Just respect for an amazing performance from the best British Management Team of his era.
I’m not a Forest fan btw. My team, Chelsea, were promoted with Forest and Wolves in the same season. Just respect for the talent

If you listened very, very carefully, you could hear a couple of people booing the English National anthem
Can someone explain the booing from England/Scotland fans during the minutes silence.
Is there something offensive about a minutes silence for earthquake victims?
Has Harry Maguire got some porno pictures of Southgate or something, can’t think of any other reason why he would keep playing him.
No comments on Phillips?

In Harry we trust
I FEEL LIKE I'M DIAGONALLY PARKED IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE
Best Scottish striker
Blackpool tourist board still want to sign him for taking kiddies for a ride along the beach.
I’ll do a Ryan:
Come on Scotland
Christ, don’t bring an Everton player on, that won’t end well.
Thank you England, put the little angry nation back in its place…

England are a first tier football nation now.
Scotland probably third tier.
A bit like against the Boks in the RWC
Replay of Harry Maguire coming on in the 2nd half

Liverpool must be kicking themselves that they pulled out of the 'done deal' Bellingham transfer.
Surely the proposed takeover at Everton will be knocked on the head by the Premier League. I’ve just listened to their list of alleged misdemeanours; fraud, illegal loans and drug offences. Their on-field record is also terrible; two clubs relegated and another two currently in relegation zones.
What Everton need is some filthy Arab oil money.
Unfortunately the new investors are US based and as Man Utd and Liverpool supporters know that never ends well. They want big returns and have no interest in a game or league thousands of miles away that they know nothing about.
Dirty Arab money will do please.
On ITV racing yesterday , the presenters were interviewing the recently retired and all round good egg ex referee Mike Dean .
Turns out he had a syndicate share in a horse that finished second .
“How did you get into this ? “ asked the presenter .
“I was introduced into it by Sir Alex Ferguson “
Probably cost him a couple of penalties and a few random offsides for his share .
You mean the same Mike Dean who was suspended in 2005?

Been at it for years - I wonder if Paul Tierney likes horses
Everton sold to a US investment fund.

Could be a bumpy ride.
The two clubs relegated were already doomed so picked them up cheap. Apparently the drug offences were true and the guy owned up to them, he was young and gullible at the time. The FA have approved the deal so far, that’s why it’s been announced.
As a lifelong Everton supporter I am sceptical regards American owners and not sure it’s a good thing we will be joining multi club owners. Jury’s out for me

In Manchester for the Albion game against Utd. Nice and warm and no rain! Meeting a Utd fan tonight for dinner and hoping to see Fati making his debut tomorrow.
