    I get you, even if he doesnt. Also dont get the reply as if there is an unread message, it wont have blue-ticked for his sender unless that actual chat is opened on screen & then it assumes it is read. But again, no unread message, just a message he hasnt read.

    Unless windows WhatsApp is just screwed up. Mac one works like a phone.

    I got rid of my BeoCom 2 when we ditched the landline. Still miss glancing at it in the lounge, as was just a cracking piece of design.

    Oh, I fully get it. And it works perfectly well for me - if I never read another WhatsApp (or email, or text message) that's sent to me, my life would still continue quite happily.

    I much prefer WhatsApp to phones.
    Useful because you can check back on whats been said.

    We had a four hour power cut a few weekends ago, long even by countryside standards, which covered a number of postcodes. Mobile worked perfectly throughout.

    I abandoned land lines 12 years ago. Never caused a single problem. Mobile does everything.
